Next year these will be his guys mostly on the field. Does he get one more oopsie? Or will he just be another almost coach.

We only fire coaches that only win 10 games. Win 11 and you get to stay.

Pre-season I thought it was Georgia’s time to take the reigns.
Maybe it’s next year. However, I am starting to think that we have a strong chance of standing in the way again next year. We have the best collection of skill players that we have ever had at Alabama. We are gonna be tough again next year.
I think after next year we lose our current nucleus of great players. I think UGA continues its rise to become the dominant SEC power for a while.
It’s the way of the world. Things change. The young overthrow the old. Saban can’t keep it going like this forever. I see us being great for a good long while, but I think eventually UGA becomes the ELITE program after Tua and Co. leave the Capstone.

There is a little bit more to it. But the simple answer is "no".

Nooooo. We lost too much. Didn't you hear we lost 33 seniors?

Seriously, this was a step back year because we did lose a lot of talent. We should be stronger next year, but I will stop short of predicting us beating Alabama. Hopefully we can, but Alabama should have another tough team next year.

Georgia is about to have so much talent that it doesn't matter if Kirby is a good coach or not.

Well, Kirby is way ahead of schedule not behind it. He almost beat the greatest program in the history of CFB in year 2-3 of being a HC with a roster that I still not quite as deep.

We have a winner!

We might not even play Alabama next year. Kirby is one of the best coaches in football. He’s not going anywhere.

Georgia isn't beating Bama next year unless Tua is hurt again.
Maybe once he's gone.
Maybe.

Maybe.

It would be a major disappointment if Alabama and Georgia didn’t play for the SEC title again in 2019. Something would have gravely wrong. Both will be far and away the most talented teams in their division.

IfTua plays the whole game this year Bama loses. that’s not what happened so UGA has to wait until next year. Hell, you never know neither of those two teams might not be in the SECCG next year. It could be UF vs A&M/ LSU, who knows?
I think Kirby gets a mulligan, if they lose to Bama next year.

They hang on to coaches that win 10 games for atleast 10 years.

Georgia would be stupid to do anything to Kirby at this point. He’s light years ahead of anyone else they could get and has them playing and recruiting at a very high level. I think he’ll eventually get UGA over the hump once Saban retires and may even sneak one past him before that.

They will be replaced by this upcoming recruiting class which will be the best recruiting class ever. This class will be better than the all-time great 2017 class which is better than to so-called great 2018 UGA class. Hell unless you haven't been paying attention, you would see that Bama has gotten more out of supposed "down" 2018 class than UGA has from theirs.

We kept Richt for 15 years, so what do you think?

lol what? It’s only been a year. How can you definitively say one class is better than the other yet? UGA had more freshman starters than bama this year, so wouldn’t UGA have gotten more out of their class than bama?

Too young. We should have won the game, but I don't think too many UGA fans thought we would be in a position to beat Bama this year. After losing 8 starters on defense, our best OL, two of the greatest SEC RBs ever, and our go to WR, it probably wasn't our year. Last year is when we really should have won.
As for this thread, Kirby's seat is ice cold.
