Brown and family believe MSU assumed he would sign with his hometown school simply because it was his hometown school, and thus didn't pursue him as hard as other prospects. The night Mississippi State lost any chance, Bulldogs WR coach Billy Gonzales made a home visit to Brown, called Mullen, and put the head coach on speakerphone. After a few minutes, Brown stood up and walked out, leaving Gonzales as the only audience to Mullen's pitch.

"I've got head coaches from everywhere coming to visit," Brown said, "but Dan Mullen couldn't drive five minutes?"

He was probably just pissed he didn't get paid as much as Leo Lewis.

Freeze had a hooker waiting in AJ's bedroom

Sounds similar to why Bo Jackson didn’t go to Bama. Mullen should have taken notes on that.

So he missed Chubb and his granchild's birth for golf? Sounds like him.

Yep, so he took that complaint to Ol Miss, the same people who paid Leo. MSU almost got OM to pay both of them to wear Maroon

per Bo, it was because Alabama didn't play freshman. Aub promised him he would get a shot.

Maybe he learned from his mistakes,

He will recruit just fine, Florida has more to offer than Miss State, not talking cash, just more of everything.

He won’t make it 9 years here doing that shite. He knows the expectations, he’ll either get it done or he won’t. He’s got 3 more years, thanks for the warning.

Let me tell you fatboy22 I am shocked that an Ole Miss player would have derogatory things to say about the former MSU coach. Shocked I tell you. I am sure this dude is a nice baw and I feel terrible that he was treated so harshly. I am going to write Merlins a letter and give him the what for.

You think he’s on his way to getting fired in 3 years?

IIRC Alabama had enough running backs and told him he would have to play linebacker if he wanted to see the field as a freshman

No I think Mullen will be just fine. I was just making the point, he won’t be around for long if he recruits at a Mississippi State level.

So what you're saying is, Wide Receivers are divas?

If he allows the players to run the program like he and Little Prince Urban did he won't have the same success as Urban.

Nothing against Spurrier -- he's awesome -- but can anyone imagine him as a doting grandpa? I picture him standing in front of the bassinet with a beer in his hand and a long list of snarky remarks about other coaches that he's desperate to share with a captive audience.

Mullen was excellent with quarterback development and got lucky with 3 star defensive recruits who turned into stars. I still think Mullen is a great coach but you can expect the quality of recruiting you got with McIlwain to continue. You guys will be better though since Mullen can do more with those recruits
