That's just unimaginably horrible. Two families lives ruined forever.

Does KY laws allow murder to be the charge or manslaughter?
Either way lock him up.

One kid makes an awful decision and another kid loses his life for it. That 18 year old’s life is done. He will never live down what he did, and society will remind him of it for the rest of his life.
I feel for the families. Just awful. Rest well, little one.

I cannot imagine the grief the family must be feeling.

I noticed a few players early on tweeting out asking for prayers for the victim. I was glad they were aware and responding that way. I later found out a friend’s uncle drives one of the tour buses that shuttle the players here and there and was called in to drive one of two buses taking the players to the hospital. I’m thinking Stoops saw not only an opportunity to support a suffering family but also a HUGE opportunity to teach several lessons to his players. I hope those seeds of wisdom find fertile ground. As a fool with a drinking problem I chose to get behind the wheel hundreds of times. Even after being hit headon by another drunk. I had trouble sleeping last night. Couldn’t stop thinking about the 4 year old or the 18 year old. Whole story is just too much. I need to be praying prayers of gratitude today that I never hurt anyone.

As the father of a 4 year old who attends football games with me................goodness. That's unimaginable.

I think he was responding to my reference to the players visiting and the lessons it offered them.

Like OleMan said, a lot of players are aware and Coach Stoops has sent out his condolences to the family...I am sure this is a teachable lesson to all not to get behind the wheel when drinking. This is a terrible thing for a family to attend the game and have something like this that happen. As a father, I could not imagine what they are going through.

Like if you're going to drive drunk and run over people, make it a 74 yr old vs. a 4 yr old?
Not sure what lesson this 18 yr old can learn. Young people do stupid shite (I personally have done 14 billion stupid things)...just shitty all the way around

I think his point is it is a learning experience for his football team to see what drinking and getting behind the wheel of a car can do.

I was hoping he meant it might remind other people not to drive after they've been drinking or convince people to stop drunks from getting behind the wheel.
No matter what its an awful situation and my heart goes out to the family.
