That first segment was terrible, The Pulse is supposed to show behind the scenes of the football program, not some wanna be frat bros getting dressed and acting stupid.

Is that the new name of BUX (brothers under Christ) or are there multiple "Christian" pseudo-frats now?

Borderline???

I was literally cringing in my office while watching that segment. I had to fast forward past it. I hope they edit that part out and reupload it.

Agree. Terrible beginning. I see what they were going for but it didn’t fit. Felt awkward.

No, no it’s not. Have had multiple friends go though “rush” with them. One, who has a lot of dipshit in him, was given a bid because he lied about drinking (he later quit). Another friend, who is as good as it gets in terms of living a Christ-centered life, wasn’t given one because he said he didn’t occasionally drink beer. Also, what kind of Christian organization is selective?

Odd question.

It's an organization. Organizations get to select their members based on their own criteria. No reason it should be different for a Christian organization. It's different than a church.

Guess I can understand “fit”, but not criteria based upon who is more Christian

Meh, I don't have a problem with it. I think it's less about who's "more Christian" and more about the culture/person they're looking for. Like every other organization.

Full disclosure: I was never a BCA member.

My first month at A&M I was drinking with some people I met at Fish Camp on top of a parking garage when this dude started prattling on about how hard life was now that he was Christian and wanted to know what everyone else adhered to. When I mentioned I was Catholic he started opining on how much easier it was to be a Catholic than a "real" Christian b/c he has to follow so many more rules and he hoped one day I could find it in my heart to walk with "Him".

I usually don't care about that kind of stuff but it brought me back to being a kid living in Tyler where holier than thou Baptists at Green Acres (Tyler's mega church) would give me a condescending "Bless your heart" talk about how I needed to come to Jesus if I wanted to participate in things like their lock-ins. In that moment I wanted to throw him off that fricking garage roof.

So yes, some Christians are super judgemental douchers.

On the other hand, one of the wildest and coolest Aggies I knew was a Mormon who would get blasted every weekend.
