I'm drinking the Lemon Aid, not cool aid...
So here we go, Our Oline is porous at best, must get better and quick. Especially if Kelly is the Qback. He was so slow to begin with.

Our D is heads above last year, regardless of a few problems. It was incredible to see the pressure brought, and the turnovers forced, and the real speed that we had when comparing the past few years.

Offense, got off very slow but finally found its niche and showed up. We need our receivers to continue to improve, our Oline again.. Damn, we must be able to run the ball and that was impossible today against inferior competition. I cant imagine what the likes of our SEC comp will do to us with our running game.

Coaching. YES, YES, Yes... he tried several things, got many people some experience and plans to improve.

At the end of the game, the answers he gave to the reporter was incredible. Spoke about having to improve, specifically mentioned the running game, and seems to be one who is extremely attentive to details.

As for the season record, I still see 6 wins, possibly 7 with improvements barring major injuries.

WSP!! Nice to have a win

Agreed on all points and I see 6-7 wins with the idea that our defense will keep us in games this year until the offense gels. I think we could be a dangerous team by year end

Still at 5-7

I’m sure a few will dial it back off the 9-3 8-4 high horses.

Morriss offense is based on the run, but I think with this o line and the receivers we have we will be a passing offense this year.

As a team, we have Conference USA looking bodies. We are gonna get skull fricked, a lot.

Ehh...I agree we'll get blown out some, but the only group that flat out looks like it doesn't belong is the offensive line. Calling them C-USA is generous.

I saw a lot of down field passes (completed) that the receivers had to stop for, come back, or even fall back for that would be interceptions against a SEC team. I didn't see either QB hit a receiver in stride today. Lots of room for improvement in other areas.

Yeah Ty had some good throws but he was in no way accurate where he needed to be. There’s something to build on there at least. Cole just seemed too slow mentally to run this offense.

I'm not printing any "Ty-sman" shirts just yet, but he made better read progressions, had better footwork, and stepped up into the pocket on a several of his throws. Kelley just seemed to be in slow motion, and he kept staring down his receivers and trying to look them open. Like CCM said, Ty gave the offense a spark just when they needed it.

The OL and running game are still big concerns, as is the pass D. Too many easy completions on quick slants and crossing routes, though tackling looks like it has improved quite a bit.

I'll take forcing 5 TOs and hanging 55 on anyone, but we've got a lot of work to do.

Yeah this team wasnt very good even by fcs standards. Ty needs to work on leading his man and hopefully when we play real competition we will stick with the tight coverage and not go back to that limp dick style of 10 yard cushion bullshite

it would've been interesting to see what Ty would've done on the first 3 series. Our offense played like shite during those possessions and wasted a few short field opportunities.

Revising win predictions up after today is insane. That was a bad FCS team and they didn't have trouble moving the ball against us. They outgained us on the ground, and our run game is nonexistent. Whaley was our leading rusher - 10 carries for 29 yards against Eastern Illinois. Luckily we had 24 points off turnovers so it wasn't a completely embarrassing opener. Decent teams won't lose 5 fumbles in one game.

This is bad and I'm just being realistic. After today I would actually revise my win prediction down to 4 or 5.

The brightest spot I saw today was our defense creating turnovers. Everything else was mediocre at best.
Particularly concerning to me was not being able to present any semblance of a running game.

ETA: After further thought, Jordan Jones showing up today was a positive. Newcomer Harrell showed that he can contribute.

I'm concerned will watch in detail tomorrow to see what I can see. was celebrating football season way too hard to have many take aways other than this wasnt reassuring in the run department

While teams all over the country were on the field cramping up we didn’t really have that issue, outside of Pool and he was spent after having to take so many snaps when Dre went out. We never laid down, unlike we would have done last year.

Can I just say Bumper Pool is a dang linebacker. Kid was all over the field today.

We’ve got a whole new culture on the hill and it will take a little bit to get things in line, but I would suspect we will see some good improvement now that we have some game tape to go over.

This team isn’t going to win 8 games but at least I didn’t finish the game hacked off like I did in many of Bert’s first games.

I think Chad will eventually get things going in the right direction if we have a little patience.

I am curious to see how we deal with the altitude at CSU.

5-7. A sunbelt-level offensive line and place holders on the defensive line = getting blown the heck out
