The media will try their best to keep the "QB controversy" going for as long as possible.

That's what the media does.

QBs get too much glory. Why not put one of Louisville’s receivers and Damien Harris?

I’m not claiming inside info, but the “chatter” going around is that Jalen will start the game. Probably a big game of telephone going on but the rumor is that Jalen has looked better since the last scrimmage.

I’m not saying it’s a fact, I’m not saying it’s something I agree with, I’m not saying that I got this info while watching practice with Paul Bryant Jr. Just throwing out there what the rumor de jour seems to be.

Look better in comparison to Tua or his previous performance, because the latter is a pretty low bar to jump.

I hope so.

If Jalen has suddenly become a better QB than Tua, I cant really complain because that would mean he’s a Heisman level QB with NFL passing skills. However I don’t think that’s possible and even if this rumor was true, I don’t think one week of practice would indicate that.

Mark Jennings is never wrong and on his podcast he says he has sources that Tua will start and play the majority of the game.

I've also heard from numerous people that I trust that Tua is getting the bulk of the reps for Louisville prep. Tua has impressed with his precise throws in both scrimmages. I'm talking "wow" throws. Jalen was abysmal in the first scrimmage. Jalen comes out vs a base defense against the twos and has 2 good deep balls in the 2nd scrimmage. That's it. He tapered off and became his old self again. Tua finished very strong. Tua outplayed him in both scrimmages. I just can't fathom how Jalen is all of a sudden Peyton Manning out there after being so bad at passing for so long. I just can't understand how that is a possibility. If Jalen trots out there with the 1s I'll be absolutely shocked.

Well, I've got a $20 bet that he gets the first snap. He better start!

I don’t disagree with any of that. I was just passing along rumors that seem to be bubbling up on and off line.

And?
Jalen is not better than Tua and will never be a better overall qb than him.. and the staff should and better be developing him and not focusing on this non battle. But if they want to beat Louisville, go ahead and start Jalen because it won't take Tua the need to... If they want to win a national title, then Jalen isn't the answer.

PS. This wasn't towards you just speaking in general.

I've seen this "new and improved" Jalen before and it was a crock of bullshite.

Tua has received the majority reps something like 75/25, however, I am still hearing both will play regardless of the score.

I believe you on that, Boz...but both playing could mean so many things. I have no problem with Jalen playing a role and having some plays designed but not sure I'm a fan of a 2 QB system if that is what you're hinting at. 75/25 is a huge difference, though. That should be all we need to know as far as who the guy is.

If you really analyze it though, only three of the quarterbacks are throwing in live game action (Browning, Stidham, and Pass). The photo of Jalen is from warm-ups. Maybe THAT is the real message.
