Barry Sanders
Game one: 18 for 178 and a KO return for a TD
Game two: 20 for 157 and a PR for a TD
Game three: 33 for 304
Game four: 24 for 174
Game five: 35 for 189
Game six: 25 for 154
Game seven: 37 for 320
Game eight: 39 for 215
Game nine: 37 for 312
Game ten: 32 for 293
Game eleven: 44 for 332
Game twelve: 29 for 222
Notice that he rushed for over 1700 yards...in his final six games!
quote:
The first time Barry Sanders touched the football in 1988, he scored a touchdown. Fittingly, the final time he carried it for Oklahoma State that season, he scored as well. Both plays were equally spectacular and bookended the greatest individual season the college football world has ever seen, and 30 years later, Sanders' '88 season remains -- like so many of his runs -- untouchable. "You can argue about a lot of different people, who's the best ever in whatever sport," said Mike Gundy, who before becoming OSU's head coach was Sanders' college quarterback. "LeBron James and Michael Jordan in the NBA. Jim Brown and whoever else in pro football. But college football? There's nobody that can touch the guy. Just can't."
In '88, Sanders didn't rewrite the records books, he incinerated them. He rushed for 2,850 yards, scored 44 touchdowns and broke 34 NCAA records.

When I first read about Sanders at OSU I could not believe those rushing stats were real. His worst game of the season was for 154 yards and 2 TDs.

The opinions on that will vary but I believe Sanders, Walker and Bo Jackson would make most folks top 5.

He was awesome no doubt. Loved watching him in the NFL making guys look silly.
I read where he didn't really love football. He got his money and said "I'm done".

thurman thomas was the man at osu.
the best runningback i ever saw in college was definitely Bo.
that being said, i believe that walker was voted #1 when they did that poll in 2000.

The only knock on him in the NFL was that he had a lot of negative yardage plays.
Understandably though.
