How are you doing in state, how is you staff doing keeping the best in your state home?

South Carolina doesn't have enough instate D1 P5 great players in state each year to field a Championship level team like say Georgia, Florida and Texas have.
But mUSChamp made it his mission to keep as many of the good ones home as possible and he made his reasons known why ... because they are invested in the state. They have state and local pride.
We lost Channing Tindall to Georgia and that one hurt because he is a local kid, a LB and that's a position where we can always use great players ... and he has the potential to be great.
Boom has gotten commitment from the Top 3 (4* and above). All three had very solid offer lists including offers from Bama, UGA, the taterheads, etc.
It's a small victory but an important one.
How are your programs doing in your own back yard?
Florida, are y'all beating-out FSU, Miami, Auburn, et al, for your top in state talent?
UGA ... are y'all keeping the taterheads out? Bama? Auburn? FSU?
One state that always intrigues me is Alabama. Who is winning that battle in state, Bama or Auburn?
Tennessee ... Vols and Pruitt keeping the best home?
A&M, how are y'all faring against Herman and others who would raid instate talent?

I just did Florida's.
Florida has an amazing fifty (50!) players rated 4* and above.
Here's how it breaks down so far in Florida.
#1 player ... UGA. UGA has one more in the Top 50 (Top 50 are all 4*s or above)
FSU has 9 commits from the Top 50.
Miami has 7 of the Top 50.
Oregon 2.
Clemson 2.
Ohio State 1.
Oklahoma 1.
Penn State 1.
Arkansas 1.
Florida 1.
23 remain uncommitted.

This is not a knock, but it some perspective- Cedar Grove Ga played Summerville SC yesterday. Cedar Grove had as many 4 stars and above as the entire state of sc and it is a AAA team i think.

Yeah I saw that ... and it is a knock on SC. Not a good year for big time 4* and better talent in SC.
Good gosh. I just looked at Texas. Texas has 41 players rated 4* and above and A&M is just killing it! They've got the #1 player plus 13 more. They are running away with it in Texas. Hell, Oklahoma is out-recruiting Texas (UTa) in Texas.

Summerville is a traditional power and they were just completey outmanned. Just shows how crazy Atlanta football is

McKissick was great at Summerville ... but they are down this year and that HC is in big trouble there. Summerville fans have been in an uproar all weekend about that game.
ETA: Anyways, looking at Tennessee they have 13 prospects rated 4* or better ... doesn't look like but one of them are going to stay in state unless one of the two uncommitteds decides to stay in Memphis. Weird. Pruitt has some work to do rebuilding relationships there evidently.

I think Auburn has the two best players in the state committed in Nix and Pickens but looks like Bama will have more of the top guys. Auburn is doing well in Georgia this cycle.

That depends on what service you’re talking about.
Webb is the top player in the state. He’s uncommitted.
Quick is #2 per the 247 composite.
Nix and Pickens are 3 and 4. Alabama currently has 5 of the top 10 committed.

LSU is doing a pretty good job. The only player that is leaving the state that LSU truly wants is Emery. The undecided players with offers are all considered LSU locks

#6 - WR Dominick Blaylock
#10 - LB Trezmen Marshall
#17 - CB Jalen Perry
#21 - TE Ryland Goede
#24 - OT Warren McLendon
#34 - OLB JD Bertrand
#7 - DT Tramel Walthour (JUCO)
Of the top ten players not committed to UGA:
#2 - OT Wanya Morris (Tennsee) - Always seemed to be a mutual disinterest
#3 - LB Owen Pappoe (Auburn) - UGA is going to fight this one out until he signs. Like Hinton with Michigan, things could change based on how Auburn's season goes.
#5 - DL Chris Hinton (Michigan) - Parents are Big10 grads and firmly believe Big10 education > SEC education. Dad is also friends or something with Harbaugh. Unless Harbaugh gets canned, not much chance here for a flip
#7 - OL Harry Miller (Ohio State) - Same sort of situation as Wanya Morris. Clay Webb out of AL is a higher priority for Pittman but the whole Meyer thing could make Miller a good second option
#8 - CB Andrew Booth (Clemson) - This kid was looking to go out of state from day one. Just never any interest in UGA. Which is fine; we loaded up at DB last cycle and are the favorites to land Stevenson out of Miami.
#9 - DE Kevin Harris - I honestly don't much about this kid which may say everything that you need to know about him and UGA. My guess based on our LB commits is that he just wasn't high on our board (not a knock on him, we just have Nolan Smith and Trezmen Marshall committed)

To be fair to UF, Nolan Smith is from Georgia but attends IMG so he's ranked as a Florida player

The state of AL is okay in talent. Bama and AU usually split the top 5-6ish recruits. Thing is though, GA and FL have almost 100 4 or 5* recruits. Being so close, we have to hit those two hard. You have better chances of getting quality players.

Boom is having to do the same thing reaching into NC, GA and FL as well as California. He's taken a few out of Tennessee and he's after some in Virginia.
But still, it's important to get as many good ones as possible in your home state.

#1 player in the state Hudson Henry appears to be 50/50 between Arkansas and Stanford. I've heard he is waiting to see how the TE position is utilized in the Chad Morris offense.
What really hurts is losing both instate 4* OT's with our current depth issues at O-line.

If Burks was anywhere else he would probably be a 5*. He’s gonna be awesome in Morris’ offense.
