I DVR'd all the games so I could watch them during the offseason. It helps pass the offseason.

I immediately deleted the first Auburn game.
It's tough to watch games in which your team loses. As a player I watched and studied the losses a lot so i could see what I did wrong and figure out how I could improve. Now, I just hit the delete button.

But getting back to Irons point about the injury to Kerryon. There is no doubt it affected the game. A lot. The combination of adjustments made by Georgia and Kerryon being injured just took a toll. I have no problem admitting that, although we (Georgia fans)like to deny it had a effect.

I agree with all of that. And once the offense was stifled the defense started to give as well.

A lot of people don't realize how one or two things can take a huge toll on an entire team psychologically. It wears on the team and and can seep the will to fight. A key injury...a favorite play getting stuffed....a few runs stopped. They tend to snowball and it is very difficult to get it turned around.

How did bama's "D" do in '10?

They were #1 in total d and #1 in scoring d in SEC that year too.

Sounds like you are saying they had hurt shoulders.

Give me a break with that crap. There wasn't anything wrong with Kerryon's legs, and he had a week to rest the shoulder. Herschel Walker separated his shoulder in the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame, popped it back in, and went right back to work. There are no excuses. The simple truth is Smart and Georgia simply weren't going to let Auburn hurt them with the dink and dunk and Kerryon.

Alabama and UGA will lead the league in total defense and scoring defense fairly easily this year. I think Auburn's defense as a whole will be just as good or better than both but will face a much tougher schedule. I think LSU will be right there with the top 3 but also face a very tough schedule. State will have a very good D but they are fools gold compared to top teams as I still think those teams will score on them (although they usually have a joke of a schedule as well).

They lost to AU and UGA 80-13. Fools gold is being kind.

Johnson’s injury was his ribs , not his shoulder. He could raise his arm above his shoulders , which took him out of the passing game.

He certainly ran hard contrary to what they claim.

Shows how little you know.

State had the number 3 total D last season and returns 9 starters, almost all depth, and adds some JUCO studs that would have started last year if not for EMCC screwing up the transcripts.

Grantham at Florida will only have a good defense when he has an all-amercan OLB and gigantic nose tackle that commands a double team on every play, an a damn good backup. His whole scheme revolves around those two positions.

How is FL’s roster at those two positions?

YO jackchu

Numbers from '17 returning LBs for bama/LSU

tt - team A 241 - team B 184
tfl - team A 24 - team B 21
sks - team A 9.5 - team B 5.5

starts - team A 24 - team B 16
team A 1 full time starter returns
team B 1 full time starter returns
team A 4 others with starting experience
team B 3 others with starting experience

Who's numbers look better A or B? You make the call.

All LSU LBs were highly recruited 4* players.

Is Holcombe returning for '18 season? Read somewhere he might not. If not then bama's numbers decline by 40+, 6 and 1.

And no I would not swap LB groups with bama. If I wouldn't swap with the tide I damn sure wouldn't swap with anyone else in the SEC.

I compared the LBs returning. Let me know if you want to compare the returning front 7 as a group?

Now you tell me what makes this bama group of LBs so special?

Again what LSU OLB was recruited as a DE?

Herschel Walker was/is a special individual. You can find instances of super human feats throughout the history of football. but you can also find instances where an injury is severe and a player can't play through it.

And, that is where I said that Georgia made adjustments.
