Bama made the CCG.
Bama killed the CCG.
The end.

It's very easy. Little Nicky has it down pat. He can make the playoffs by coming 2nd place in the west, thus getting the extra rest and antler spray shipment since not having to play for the SECC.

If we're being honest Bama should auto make the playoffs every year at least until Saban leaves

First time I can remember thinking... damn, texag7 has a good point!
But for the record... I think for them, the committee calls it a 'bye' if bama only has 1 loss and not in the SECCG.

To be honest, once the playoff was expanded, it just made Alabama more inevitable. If they ever go to 8 teams, one of them will always be Alabama ... in perpetuity!

The conference titles died years ago when the BCS came on board. When conferences had bowl tie ins for the champ it was big.
The playoff made it totally irrelevant. The committes job is to get the 4 best teams. Period. Like basketball does. Conference champs hasn't mattered in basketball since the tourney expanded in the 70s.
The conference champ in the Pac 12 wouldn't finish in the top 3 of the sec west. U could nearly say the same for the big 12. They've been in the playoff...they've always lost. Big 12 champ is a 3rd place sec team.

Has the SEC conference champ been refused entry to the playoffs?

Maybe the Big XII or Big 10 title games mean less. But a divisional runner-up from has never made it in at the expense of the conference champ.

No and neither has the SECW runner-up. If you a 1 or 2 loss team in the East, but not in the SECCG... you won't get the bama bump.

Auburn had one job, beat a team that they had beaten
a few weeks before, Sorry Bama broke y'alls RB.

The SEC West runner-up has failed to make the playoffs three times.
Just to clear that up.
