Really dumb thread.
Florida's gas prices are higher because we tax more on gas thanks to all of the tourists we receive and our mass amount of residents. The trade off is... we don't have a state income tax.
Poor states like Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina don't really have that option.

I believe the state of TN's income tax is equivalent to the number of SEC Wins UTk got in 2017.

Some states have multiple brackets depending on your income. Most of the states that have income tax have lower property taxes.

If Louisiana would just legalize sports betting and pot, they would eliminate a lot of the problems until they inevitably mismanage that money.
