We have about as much claim to be fans of UAB as most Bama fans do for Bama

I don't live in Louisiana, but I can't stand UL-Lafayette because of their attempt to take over the U of Louisiana banner. I have always preferred UL-Monroe anyway, and I'm not sure why.

As for the state I live in, Kennesaw State perhaps? Maybe UNG? I want to hate Georgia Southern for acting as though they are UGA fans and then being thrilled when they took us to OT a few years ago, but I think that's just sour grapes from how pissed that game maybe. It seems unfair to hate someone for being happy about playing well against an SEC school, bit it sure did bug me at the time.

Having lived in Atlanta for 4 years, I really can't think of any of the smaller state schools that had an irrational hate for the flagship because all of them were UGA fans. Valdosta State is the only one I can think of that could potentially act like that because of the whole "title town USA" thing

Since we're going down this road I'll lay it plain: Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Every coastal kid I met looked like they suffered from it.

There are kids in SC who can't get in to Clemson or USC and maybe they'll go to Upstate, or Aiken, or a tech school/community college and that's fine, those aren't the people I'm talking about.

Coastal is a completely different phenomenon. It's not just that it's a party school, you don't see that with Arizona State. It's not just that it's a plan B school. It's Party School+Low Standards+Myrtle Beach. Weird combo.

I'm sure there are normal, even awesome, Coastal alumni but I haven't met one.

This right here.
I was in a fraternity at USC, our Coastal Equivalent once came by (cant remember for what)
4-5 walking in, frosted Tips, cargo shorts and pukka shell necklace.

This was like 2013 too.

No clue that still existed.

Ole Miss easily. They try to compare themselves to State but there isn't a comparison. State is always on there mind. As you seen on the rant, they were the first ones to report on Leo Lewis getting arrested.

Yet to here a UF fans take. Growing up a Floridian I’d go with Miami. Biggest fairweather bandwagon fans in the state.

There's a reason Florida Man is a thing, over the last 50ish years Florida has attracted a certain type of person from across the country like a shining beacon on a hill. Those people have spawned generations of offspring compounding the problem until you get what we see today. A similar thing has happened or is happening to Myrtle Beach. The joke about Kansas and the larger Midwest, at least in pre-internet days, is that trends take a few years to work their way there from the coasts, it's like the land that time forgot. I guess Myrtle is the same way, it just eternally exists in 2000.
