Going to Memphis for the BBQ and getting Rendezvous is like going to New York for culture and hitting up Times Square.

You're BBQ is bad, but not terrible.

Ya see, its the bolded part you say they will align with...makes this is one the worst post of the year, even if its just a troll attempt.

You think this is how football will end up next year?

Can't disagree here.Next time you're in Atlanta try B's Cracklin in the Bolton/Riverside area...more low country Q than W/NC.Damn good.

Rendezvous

Other than in ambiance/decor and tradition, the Vous probably isn't near the top 15 (certainly not top 10) in Memphis these days. It's not even close to the best barbecue Downtown anymore. It's not horrible or inedible or anything, but the pork is usually pretty dry, and it's usually slammed. Their rub is still good on everything though.

I will say there's good reason for the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest to be in Memphis each and every year, and not in Texas, or Kansas City, or the Carolinas. The fast food drive through barbecue (Top's, among others) is still better than the best you'll find in much of the rest of the country. Plus, if there's a dish that can have pulled pork on it, a chef in Memphis ranging from your holes in the wall to your gourmet establishments has made it with pulled pork. Memphis is a great city if you need to fatten up

nt out for some good Texas bbq. All of them said brisket trashes the que they normally eat. They didn’t believe me when i said they wouldn’t need sauce. They only sampled the sauce but all agreed it was not needed at a

I don't want to upset you my friend but your being from Texas and therefore not the south you didn't recognize folks having been raised right. They were being polite....something folks from the south do and something folks from the Midwest, like Texans, just don't get at all. Those folks probably knew...because you can't be around a Texan fir more than a few minutes before you realize the poor devil is embarrassed by everything about Texas and will therefore brag non-stop about all things Texan to compensate for their inferiority complex (unfounded, in my opinion....Texas ain't nearly as shitty as Indianna)....that you were very proud of that burnt roast beef and therefore, not to hurt your feelings,,,said it was very good. I'll bet you they all said something about blessing your heart when you weren't in hearing distance....and possibly even when you could hear them, depending on how badly they felt your heart needed blessing....

Being the best brisket on the planet is like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.....

The only food that stands out in texas is chicken fried steak, hill country German food and beer

And by the way the only thing that ought to served with BBQ is Brunswick stew.....without fricking Lima beans. A close second is Hash. If you are eating “BBQ” and there are beans about you have been duped and are most likely eating burnt roast beef slathered in ketchup

Franklin,s brisket is edible.....but it's a good thing there ain't a Golden Corral closer than 10 miles though ,cause Franklin's Brisket is on par with Golden Corral "prime rib".....if there were a Golden Corral acrovss the road everybody who didn't get some brisket when they sold out would simply cross the street and find tough beef over cooked that was about as good as Franklin's and they always have some left over!

What about the most over rated BBQ joint? Hands down has to be Dreamland in Tuscaloosa. If you ain't never been you gotta go simply to see how deep white guilt runs in Alabama.......those folks will tell the world about the ribs at dreamland......they will wax lyrically about those ribs as if Bear Bryant himself basted them in his own urine....when in fact they are spare ribs bought at Sam's Club, boiled for about an hour and then placed on a grill for about. 2 minutes per side. They then put some liquid smoke on them, pour some kraft BBQ sauce in a cup, place some light bread on the table and talk to you very sweetly as they prepare to laugh their arse off about whit folks eating that garbage. I am convinced this is where the idea for "The Help" came from because pampered, ignorant white folks been eating black folks shite at Dreamland since the 50's

Carolina bbq is the nastiest shite on god's earth. Dreamland was once very good until it franchised after the owner passed away. Anyone who thinks the version of Dreamland that exists now is a true representation must've been born last week.
