Well, Jacobs was a 3* and offered late. Similar results?

His running pains me, it looks so unathletic, but he could be the replacement for Hale who has been a great TE for us for his entire time here.

I see your point but Mayden, Knott, McDonald, Townsend , May never see meaningful minutes and Smith may be Leaving

15% if not more of a signing class never play a meaningful down and that is the case even with one Nick Saban.

Yes. Got to sign players to fill the gap just can’t hope they get better bc you have numbers there though either

I understand that a lot of players never play meaningful snaps, but it's frustrating when they are highly rated and have all the measurables.

If he was 6'2" I'd agree, but if he's a legit 6'6" I'd say he moves pretty well for a guy his size. Not everyone that big is as graceful looking as OJ or an elite basketball player.

Since you see DJ James as a high priority need for one of our last few spots, I'm curious how you think he compares to those 10 CBs (Turnage too) on the projected roster?

I'd like to speculate about it, but I'm gunshy because of thinking Knott was going to be great Luckily, seems like all our DB recruits for 2019 are pretty good sized guys

DJ James. Didn’t really say he is a priority , just that if we offered a 3 star TE from AZ we may be missing on some high targets or he is a backup plan. If that’s the case, I would rather take an Instate player at a position that could always be used since some players are “misses”. He looked pretty good during practice week of MS/Al game. MSU thinks the world of him. Sleeper type that could develop and at the least contribute on special teams

I wish we could go out and find a big headed fullback. That tops on my wish list

Oh, ok. Gotcha. I could be wrong, but I doubt that 3* TE (seems like a redshirt project-level player) or DJ James ends up in Bama's class. I think there are 5 spots left that'll most likely go to:
1) DL - Byron Young
2) RB - Robinson or Glass
3) LB - To'oto'o
4) LB - Bogle
5) DL - Sopsher or other DL
Maybe DB Christian Williams gets a spot instead of a RB if Jacobs stays, or if we get Young but miss on Sopsher and the other DL targets. And since Raekwon Davis is staying, if we get Young, then an additional DL isn't such a critical need.

Mayden played quite a bit down the stretch and we really missed him in the 1st half against UGA. He does seem to be a bit of a knucklehead but to this point, he doesnt deserve to be mentioned with those other guys.

He was out of place with what we were asking him to do. He can play in the box and cover TEs and RBs but he is a liability covering WRs

DJ James plays physical for his size listed which is 5-10 175. You watch, he will be playing against us in a couple of years and will be a good player . Passing this along, heard from a coach over here today that he thinks Young is really intrigued by Bama but MSU hiring Tony Hughes gives them a chance bc of some prior relationship with the family . Hope he sticks, he plays with good pad level

Me too. Yeah, Young gets underneath leverage on the OLs with the quickness, strength, feet and athleticism to jack them off balance and get into the gap quickly on either side of them. His low pad level helps him split and get through double teams too. I think he's gonna be a good one.

I would take Bogle , Robinson , Young and To’oto’o right now and save that last one for a frat star kicker in the fall..... you know we going to need it
