Doesn't have to do with Irv Smith (unless something has changed since last night). Irv supposedly is saying he's coming back. But could have something to do with the Kedrick James' suspension.

Would be sweet if Irv came back . Offense would be sick once again

We are going to have to fight for that signature, Saban will roll out the new staff quickly if this mass Exodus was something he is encouraging to a few of these individuals.

AL.com reporting that Jacobs is turning pro. Good luck to him. He deserves it

Good luck to Jacobs! He was a beast and IMO he was under utilized.

Saban has got to figure out how to get some staff continuity. That’s the one advantage Dabo has over Saban at this point. Hard to recruit and develop relationships when you literally have an entire new staff every flipping year. Hard on player development as well when they have a new position coach every season. At some point we need a little stability. We need guys who will give us at least 2-3 years if not 4-5.

That means sacrificing quality of coaches and recruiters. You have to go get retreads or unproven guys and they still will get job offers because they are attached to Saban.

Dabo has a staff in place, you can't just magically create that now when coaches know that coming to work for Saban is almost always a ticket to a bigger job once they leave.

Let’s be honest, working with Saban is obviously a great resume builder but it’s also a chore that most don’t want to sign on for long term. They do a tour of duty to get the feather in their cap and they move on to a bigger job, more money, but more importantly, a more relaxed atmosphere. I’m not knocking Saban or the results but it’s obvious that Dabo and others like him are kicking his arse in the staff stability department and it does make it more of a challenge. I don’t think Saban can change it, it’s just not in his DNA but it will work against us and he will have to continue to overcome it.
