I see few names on the list that Bama could go after for DT/DL/QB spots.

Maybe all of the misses we had today was a blessing in disguise.

I was surprised to see Jabril Robinson's name on the list. He played in 11 games for Clemson last season.

We’ve been forced to learn, over the last few years, that there’s no such thing as too much depth. RB, LB, DB... No such thing. But depth will be our only real problem next year, and hopefully we burned through most of our bad luck this year. And won a Natty. We’re in good shape y’all.

Sterling Johnson is my top want, but given he left Clemson where he was getting snaps competing for a national title, I'm not sure what all we have to offer him.

I think he'll go somewhere to be a starter.

Can't guarantee him it, but the opportunity is there to start at Bama.

All depends on how they address the middle...

That's a spot where you have to find a unique kid. Most graduate transfers are looking to go play at a bigger place where they can fit a role or the flipside, going down to play more and start.

QB isn't really a role player position, and whoever comes in clearly is not going to be anything other than a security blanket. So, it basically has to be a kid who wants to just go be part of a program like Alabama knowing that they, Lord willing, won't ever play.

Available grad transfers -- Defensive Line
quote:

Sterling Johnson (6-4/305), a rotation defensive lineman at Clemson, is also looking to take a graduate transfer. Johnson appeared in  eleven games for the Tigers this season, recording 14 tackles and two sacks in 2017. He was a high school All-American, so the talent is there. And Johnson still has time to make an impact - he's got two years of eligiblity remaining.

Jabril Robinson (6-3/265), a Clemson defensive lineman, has announced his intention to explore the grad transfer market. Robinson played in 11 games for the Tigers in 2017, seeing about 20 snaps per game. He graduated in December. With stiff competition in front of him on the depth chart, it's likely Robinson is looking for more time on the football field somewhere else.

Dylan Thompson (6-5/280), a reserve defensive lineman, is taking a graduate transfer from Ohio State. Thompson's career has been marred by injury and academic issues, and he was able to play his first game for the Buckeyes until 2017. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

I'd add Kayton Samuels to the list. Sterling Johnson is number one on my wish list. He can play NT and he has 2 years left, which would be like us adding a JUCO DL this class.

Wow. That's pretty surprising to me. I'm shocked any qb would come as a grad transfer knowing they are gonna hold a clipboard. Well Roll Tide! We need him.

I think we got a good shot at Johnson. Robinson and Thompson are probably looking for a place with less competition. I wouldn't mind us giving Kenny Bigalow one more shot to prove that 5 star talent is still there.

Senior DT Bigelow announces transfer from USC
quote:

Nearly one month after senior defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow Jr. announced his decision to retire from football, the former five-star recruit has had a change of heart, announcing Wednesday afternoon his intention to transfer out of USC and continue is his playing career.

The former blue-chip recruit made the announcement over Twitter, including a granted sixth year of eligibility:

https://t.co/4N2GAHcTFj — Kenny Bigelow (@_mcmxcv__) Nov 15, 2017

This is something I felt was best for me and my family and a decision I made to give my self an opportunity to play at the next level.

https://t.co/pGCJlAXQF2 — Kenny Bigelow (@_mcmxcv__) Nov 15, 2017

Bigelow came to USC as a five-star recruit in the 2013 class, rated the No. 9 overall player and the No. 2 DE in the nation. But Bigelow never lived up to his ranking, his career derailed by two major knee injuries.
