In before Roger starts a duplicate thread stating his insider sources tell him what we already knew

I love the competition. He’s got 5 years to play 4 right?

It sounds like it. Deciding like today or tomorrow whether to officially enroll at A&M. He was left off the Twins 40 man and wasn’t claimed in the Rule 5 so he faces an uphill climb to MLB right now especially if he wants to stay a SP. This would be so huge. How weird/crazy would it be if he ends up pushing another Pius kid (Gunnell) away from A&M

What would his eligibility be? 5 years to play 4?

Yeah I think so. And if he lights it up I think he would be eligible to leave right away. I like Starkel but having a kid who has been in a pro weight program, has experience preparing as a pro athlete etc along with the old pedigree as a top recruit are all good things. I think he could push him pretty hard

Worked out pretty well for FSU when they got Chris Weinke.

OSU when they got Weeden as well. There are certainly others where it hasn’t worked (Mark Farris) but this type of competition can only be good

It's a small sample size but the success rate seems a lot higher than rolling the dice with a recruit out of high school

So just speculation and vague blanket statements that say nothing, gotcha.
