Meaning he was recruiting well but showed no progress on the field. Maybe he doesn’t know how to coach them up or run an offense. Maybe Saban hired him strictly as a recruiter, never intending to have him run his offense.

Ah, yes. I neglected the -ed. Thank you for pointing that out. I will leave the original mistake for posterity's sake.

One man is not responsible for bringing in 100% of the recruits on the field. Given where he coached - Maryland and New Mexico State, it's quite possible he did a good job with the kids he had. Does anyone on here really believe that 2014 Maryland had the talent to be better than 4-4 in the Big10, while beating Michigan, PennSt, and Iowa? Is that underachieving at Maryland? Really? Sounds like he did a heckuva job to me.

Would Tee Martin be willing to come back to his home state?

Maybe. And maybe one day I’ll shite rose petals. At this level we don’t deal in “maybe”.

Comprende?

Nussmeier won a natty here and was a "Kick Six" away from playing for another. It's hard to screw up that much talent.

Lock looks to be the favorite from what I’m hearing.

Every single hire we could possibly make would come with a certain amount of uncertainty.

I dunno about anyone else in this thread, but I'm in zero way shape or form offended.

Just to clear that up.

Hey. If Saban thinks he can handle it, I’m cool. As long as he doesn’t fowl up Tua or try to play Jalen I’m down wit it.

Most overrated coach in CFB. I just don't get it.

Not sure yet. Terry Joseph was in TTown today but he is a DB coach. This will unfold more tomorrow.

Just playing Devil's Advocate, Bob Davie went to New Mexico after him and eventually led the program to a couple of bowl games (and never has had a season as bad as any of Locksley's there). And Bob Davie is not a good football coach.

Lock was the only one who would develop plays for Jalen, Daball basically refused. Anyway he’s gone and there was some issues with him and Saban.

I don't think his head coaching tenure really has anything to do with it. Much like Kiffin at USC.

Locksley went 1-11 twice.

Ouch.
