If the line drops into protection it’s not RPO.

I'm not sure RCT knows what RPO is.

It's RPO if the QB makes the decision to give to the back or pull and throw a slant based on defensive reaction.

Fromm did that multiple times. Almost every NFL team does it.

I am not sayting that Locksley is the right choice. I'm simply saying that not one single person on this website can say that he definitely would not do a good job. You don't know.

If you want a sexier hire, fine. But Saban could name the clone of a de-animated Lorax as OC and I'd support the guy.

Simply put, I was hating on folks who were hating on a coach who has done a heckuva job for Bama the last few years, coached our boys up through the death of his daughter, is an excellent recruiter, and is well-liked by our current players.

My main concern with Locksley is that he is primarily a simplified RPO guy. That’s why Taggart wanted him at FSU, perfect fit for his offense.

Here’s the thing, Jalen is a much better fit for the type of offense that he’s run before. I don’t know if that’s what he’d be calling now, but we may be running into the opposite of what we had this year a passing QB with a OC that wants a running QB.

Ultimately, Saban knows what he wants and knows what’s best for the program. So I’ll trust his decision.

Yea, I'm certainly not going to melt over Locksley. He gives me pause but he's been in the building a while and Saban knows what he is doing.

From outside the bubble I might prefer Fisch or Enos, but Saban knows what is going on.

Well no shite. Next thing you're going to say is that nobody has a window into the future. I suppose we should just totally eliminate message board speculation since nobody can predict the future.

Will do, friend. By the way, do you think that it's funny that by using one word, I got you to make a thinly-veiled request to fight me IRL? Cause I do.

Roll Tide, buddy. But you are a loser.

Thanks, tho. I really needed that laugh today.

OK. I'm confused. I was saying that Locksley had not-so-great offenses because he didn't have a lot of talent to work with, given the school where he was coaching. It was not an insult to Locksley, but rather the opposite.

He did, the DC area is a hotbed of talent and the reason he is on Bama's staff to begin with. Stefan Diggs was a 5* WR and only went to Maryland because of Locksley.

Ralph Friedgen had better offenses with that same DC talent...

Of course no one can predict the future. But there's no reason to eliminate Locksley, and the reasons given by people attempting to do so were terrible.

No one here has the power to eliminate anyone, but if they don't want him hired, that's their opinion. That's why people are here.

This. We need a guy that runs this stuff in spots but truely understands the passing game.

Saban is only human. Sooner or later, having to replace these guys every year, he's gonna make a mistake. See Doug Nussmeyer if you need an example. I'm afraid he's going to get talked into the Locksley thing because we don't need to lose any more recruiting mojo and we're all going to regret it.

If someone made a dumbass statement to my face, and I deemed the right course of action was to call them a dumbass, sure I would. But I don't think it would be a big deal.

Despite our disagreements, we are all kinda like buddies or sometimes kinda-fighting brothers on here. In my real life, my friends and I rag on each other pretty agressively, and it's the same with nearly all the men my age (39) that I know. And none of us get our panties in a wad about it. And so my question is, why are you doing that now?

Relax, dude. Take some ribbing like a man.

I never wanted to "shite it up" in here. Folks asked me direct questions about my previous statements. I was not the one who changed the conversation. I just addressed it when it changed.

I\m more than happy to discuss the topic at hand, which was Locksley and other candidates.

I think Locksley might be a great fit.
