Is he allowed to do that?

LSU fans posting on the Rant and CC board that Daboll is headed back to the NFL.
I know he was mentioned on some NFL lists as a possibility for some teams but I have yet to hear any confirmation.
Any truth to it or LSU fans being LSU fans?

Pretty much. He is on some NFL teams' lists as an OC candidate. Aaron Suttles says Mrs Daboll doesn't want to move again.

Posting because Kevin Sumlin and Jedd Fisch are the leading U of AZ HC candidates and Fisch may be an OC candidate if Daboll leaves.
Sumlin spotted in Tucson
Sumlin spotted in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Kevin Sumlin is in Tucson. At least he was in Tucson on Thursday. Kelly Abbott, co-owner of the Rincon Market told Tucson News Now's David Kelly that Sumlin visited earlier in the day.
The news of Sumlin's Tucson appearance sparked a flurry of talk over whether or not Sumlin would be introduced at halftime during the Oregon State vs. Arizona basketball game.
Ultimately, no such announcement was made. The wait continues.

Alabama football coming and going for 2018: Special teams, coaches and staff
quote:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — While the confetti was still falling at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and the realization was still sinking in that the University of Alabama football team had just won the national championship, Jeremy Pruitt started to make his final goodbyes.
The outgoing defensive coordinator who had stuck around for the College Football Playoff before fully taking over at Tennessee, made a point to find all of his players either during the celebration on the field or in the locker room. The next time he sees most of them, he’ll be decked out in orange on the other sideline.
“What better way to send him off than with a victory,” sophomore linebacker Mack Wilson said. “That’s my guy, I love Coach Pruitt to death.”

Here’s where Alabama stands with special teams and coaches/staffers.
SPECIAL TEAMS (3)
Staying: LS Thomas Fletcher (LS Scott Meyer)
Going: P JK Scott, K Andy Pappanastos
Redshirt: K Joseph Bulovas
Signed: P Skyler DeLong
Alabama is going to really miss punter Scott, but DeLong is a highly regarded prospect who is being counted on to step in immediately. Fletcher and walk-on Meyer split duties, one handling punts and the other fields goals and extra points. It took most of the season to get someone settled at punt return, but Trevon Diggs looked comfortable during the title game, and Xavian Marks remains an option.
COACHES/STAFF
Going: Jeremy Pruitt (defensive coordinator to Tennessee), Derrick Ansley (secondary)
Incoming: Pete Golding (TBD)
The staff will remain fluid for a while as football coaches on both the professional and collegiate levels are transitioning into new staffs, so there’s still a lot of movement. But Ansley is going to the Oakland Raiders; defensive analyst Wes Neighbors is headed to FAU and former Texas A&M special teams and tight ends coach Jeff Banks will reportedly join the Crimson Tide staff, which could mean a re-assignment for Joe Pannunzio. Three names to watch moving forward are Ed Marynowitz (associate AD), wide receivers coach Mike Locksley and maybe offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
The initial idea with Golding was to have him handle the linebackers as his position group. With Ansley’s departure, coaching the secondary is a possibility but it’ll depend who else is hired. Don’t be surprised if Saban waits until after National Signing Day to finalize and announce the new staff.

Anyone heard any rumblings about Mel Tucker coming back as DC?
My Dad asked me if I had seen anything about it on any boards, which I have not...one of the guys he works with mentioned it to him as something to look out for but I for one would be shocked if true.

i think I would rather reward Tosh.

Yeah i do not want to lose Tosh. I cant see why Mel would take a lateral move back here either.

I expect Tosh to be named DC and Golding CoDC or maybe both will have CoDC titles.

Looking like Pruit's friend Freddie Kitchens is not among top candiates for final open position on Vols staff.
Field of candidates for Vols WR coaching vacancy narrows to three
Field of candidates for Vols WR coaching vacancy narrows to three
quote:
Jeremy Pruitt has narrowed the field of candidates for his wide receivers coaching vacancy to three barring an unexpected contender emerging according to multiple sources in college football and on Rocky Top. A pair of candidates with deep Atlantic Coast Conference ties and an in-state assistant coach have interviewed for what, right now, is the final position on Pruitt’s inaugural staff.
Former Florida State assistant/co-offensive coordinator Lawrence Dawsey, Memphis wide receivers coach David Johnson, and NC State assistant head coach for offense/recruiting coordinator Des Kitchings have emerged from a crowded field of would-be candidates...
