Apologies if this has already been asked, but is it still assumed that Tosh will be the DC? I thought it would have already been announced if that was the way Saban was going to go.

Al.com is reporting that the Michigan guy was offered the job, but turned it down.

f Daboll goes NFL then I'd like to see us get an OC who can flat out recruit. It would be hard to NOT score 30+ with Tua, Harris x2, the WR group, 4 of 5 o-line coming back, etc. We can't take a chance on hiring a coordinator who doesn't restock the cupboard at a rate equal to Saban's expectations

As long as we don't hire some complete idiot like Nuss who would look at our roster and the talent we have coming back and reach for his wishbone playbook. I'm more interested in an OC that can develop young QBs and design and call an intimidating offense. Recruiting is a secondary concern. We have position coaches and a head coach like no other for that aspect.

Waiting on Harbaugh to vaguely reference this in a tweet.

Suttles saying Dabol MIGHT stay. Wife doesn't want to move yet. And one of his frustrations was not being able to play Tua. Says that the NC game may have kept him around.

Alabama staffer joining Lane Kiffin at FAU
quote:

A member of Alabama's staff is joining Lane Kiffin at FAU.

Kiffin is hiring Crimson Tide defensive analyst Wes Neighbors to be FAU's safeties coach, Sports Illustrated reported on Friday.

At FAU, Neighbors will work with Kiffin, others like Wilson Love and Michael Nysewander with ties to Alabama and also with his brother.

Connor Neighbors, a former LSU fullback, is FAU's assistant strength and conditioning coach.

JP at UT still has one field coach opening at WR. There was talk about Propst for the opening but nothing has been done yet. Back in his playing days JP had two very close friends. The 3 of them hung together all of the time, even out on Lake Martin in the summers. The two friends...Will Friend now coaching OL at UT and the other Freddie Kitchens. If Freddie becomes available, There is a good chance he will be offered co-OC at UT.

Aaron Suttles hinting that there will be a lot of turnover. He just alluded that like watching someone swim you see them floating above the water but theres a lot going in under the surface.

Would love to see a turnover chart for every year Saban has been here.

Saw a post stating the Locksley didn't show for a meeting on Wednesday and he is working with FSU about a spot.

While true about him negotiating with FSU for their QB coach position, he did not SKIP a meeting on Wednesday. He is in DC for a funeral.

Michigan assistant turning down Alabama job
quote:

A Michigan assistant has turned down a position at Alabama.

Wolverines linebackers and special teams coach Chris Partridge was offered the Crimson Tide's inside linebacker coach job but has decided not to take it, according to a report from ESPN.

AL.com had reported earlier Friday that Partridge was a candidate for the job.

Partridge, a former New Jersey high school coach, has been at Michigan since 2015 and has been the team's linebackers and special teams coach the last two seasons.

The 37-year old was named National Recruiter of the Year by Scout in 2016 and by 247Sports last year.
