We may not be done with coach changes... I think one more coach will leave.

I didn't list Dunbar. There's nothing out there but speculation from our own fanbase because many want Bo Davis back (which couldn't happen until after 2019).

Still have to think he will get a new title and pay raise. Nothing open, that I am aware of, that would entice him.

He won't be leaving unless it is a promotion.

even then bo is going to be at a disadvantage. You have to start recruiting 2019 kids last year, and when you hire a guy you are also hiring his existing relationship with recruits.

Exactly. His contacts throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and east Texas will have long dried up after 4 years of no contact.

I'm just glad more people are understanding that.

Anyone know what BOL is saying on the coaching search?

Lock is a legit candidate for a spot with FSU but it will require them meeting his demands (McElwain and UF could not last year).

Related note is if Lock does leave, then fully expect Daboll to stay for another season. Lock wants to be an OC and is currently Co-OC with Daboll, so the implied thought is if Daboll left then Lock should step into that role.

Nothing is imminent with Daboll, but just alot of movement in the NFL so there is an outside chance that someone at that level could draw him back in.

There are also some other potential changes on offense at a couple of positions, but no specifics were given.

Defensively, Tosh and Golding will likely be CO-DC's with Tosh making the calls up front and Golding handling DB's.

Look for the next assistant coach to be a LB's guy but Saban is also considering going with another secondary guy as well.

Expect most of the movement to occur before NSD.

There's enough buzz on Chris Partridge. I should probably add him to the rumors.

What about bring Gene Chizik in as Co-DC with Tosh?

His Tampa 2 doesn't exactly mesh with what Saban does defensively.

No doubt... One other thing I forgot from BOL is that Pruitt made a strong run at Cochran but came up short. He has reached the trusted advisor status with Saban so keeping him is about more than just his presence in the S&C program.

TR is always careful with his words so he mentioned this for a reason. He said keep Cochran in mind when thinking about these on field coaching staff decisions.

Now I don't really know what he is getting at, but it could be maybe a former (or soon to be former) staffer bumping heads with Cochran. IDK, just seemed like a strange addition beyond the mention of Pruitt trying to nab him.

Chiz runs a totally different scheme than Saban.

Won't happen.
