We are the conference. It is what it is. Very, very rare that Bama fans chant that en masse, but last night was an appropriate time to do it, IMO.

'Scuse us...but we did chant SEC at the Michigan fans that were left after the game...and they flipped us off in prolific fashion. Very satisfying reaction.

I remember back when the SEC was starting it’s run (2006ish?) when every time an SEC team would play a non conference opponent in a big game they’d chant S.E.C. We knew an SEC team winning was good for the conference which in turn was good for each team. Now idiots cheer against every SEC team that’s not their team.

I pull for the SEC because every time [these yankees] make fun of one of us for being rednecks, idiots don't realize that they're essentially making fun of the entire fricking region.

I think it is chanted mainly to piss off fans of other teams not in the SEC. The talking heads can't figure it out, I heard them talking about it today on Sirius. I also think a lot of SEC folks understand the disdain directed to the conference by outsiders. Believe me, they hold us all in contempt, don't think you escape it.
