Just about every Netflix show I watch these days rolls that Georgia peach logo in the credits at the end so they're filming a shite-ton of things in Georgia these days.

Yeah... as I said... it's tax breaks (incentives)... Canada had the best breaks for a little while. Right now it's GA. Most of the Marvel films at least have a portion of them filmed here. Have plenty of friends who work in the business... Go to Umi (high end sushi restaurant in Buckhead) on almost any night and you're guaranteed to see 2-3 celebs minimum if you can identify them. The last time I was there it was Jason Bateman, Amanda Peet, the Rock, and someone else that I'm forgetting now... frat-tastic dude in everything I've seen him in.

Anywho... IMO, they're at least partly responsible for driving up the damn home values in Atlanta right now. Mini-bubble forming due to all the people buying homes here due to relative cost differential from being in California (and the decreased tax burden from making GA their official residence). Will be curious to see how long the state can keep it going... also, can they manage to shift it away from Atlanta to get anything remotely approaching a second true metro area outside of Atlanta... Savannah, Augusta, Macon, etc are all still pretty small. Would probably not make the natives too happy though... particularly down in south GA.

It's funny you should say that. I saw Scarlett Johansson there about a month ago.

I'm going to start a thread tomorrow in honor of our Oklahoma friends. It will not...I repeat...will NOT be a troll thread. Come around tomorrow afternoon if you get a chance, and have a good evening, man!

David Walton was dude I couldn't think of... had to google "goofy frat guy actors" - took a couple of rows of google image search results to figure it out... Apparently, that includes literally every male actor that has made a comedy movie in the last 10 years according to Google.

The Netflix show Ozarks is filmed on damn lake Allatoona in GA rather than the actual Ozarks area...

And that's why it looks nothing like the Ozarks...

If not for football, Baker Mayfield would be working for a prison crew digging ditches.

Don't they use picks and shovels for that
line of work ? Honestly, I think those tools
may be a bit too complex for Baker Mayfield.
They could put him in a stone yard, banging rocks
together maybe.

'We' always thought the southern SEC schools felt inferior to northern schools because of the stereotypical southern redneck persona that they tease them over. No doubt due in part to the infamous 'twang' in their dialects and generally being considered less intelligent than than the northern states.

OTOH, I cannot dispute what you say about Oklahoma , as we too have our share of those types. But we also have people that aren't that way at all.

OU fans are white trash and assorted drunk Indians.

Toby Keith is their honorary mascot.

The north is full of trash and rednecks. The difference up north is none of them know how to cook, and their accents make you want to put a screwdriver thru your eardrum.

Travel western NY state thru to Indiana and get back to me about poor, rural trash people.

Derp derp derp... the more you dipshits say this the funnier it gets. We're playing with house money this season... Why is that so hard to understand. Literally none of us expected us to be in the playoffs this season. The avg projection was 9-10 win regular season with just an appearance in the SECCG. Instead, we win 11, and then win the SECCG, and are in the playoffs. This off season is going to be rough for the rest of you dipshits while we start to run up the score on the recruiting trail too.

I live in Norman. Originally from LA. My mother’s entire side of the family is originally from the Marietta/Kennesaw area. I have spent tons of time in Georgia.

I’ve seen enough toothless creatures in all 3 states for a lifetime.

Also food for thought: the Oklahoma Land Run occured barely 125 years ago. Many, many southerners settled here just a few generations ago.
