I like how whoever posted it to YouTube categorized it as a comedy.

You're the only one on here that thinks she said 650. 650 literally makes no sense like I said already. Please use your brain and put the pieces together.. I know IQ isn't something you sister lovers know much about at ole piss but just try please

fwiw I absolutely do not believe that LSU offered her $650k.
I mean, we don't even pay Cory Raymond that much. He is worth 15 Leo Lewis and a Jeffery Simmons.

I get what you're saying.
I also hear $60 and $80 on the recording.
This is where the $650k figure comes from:

Within the piece, Lewis' mother Tina Henderson told a former Ole Miss assistant that LSU had offered $650,000 for the services of her son.
If even close to the truth, that amount of money changes everything we know about cheating in college athletics. If even close to the truth, this case isn't so much about Ole Miss cheating but the lengths any wrongdoer would be willing to go.
And there is reason to believe $650,000 is close to the truth. I checked with the story's author, Steven Godfrey, he said the figure wasn't a typo on his part. The transcript was verified.
I get that Godfrey isn't well respected around here but there's a lot of meaty stuff in the Dennis Dodd article.
quote:
The father of former Texas A&M wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones said he was offered $600,000 for the services of his son. That shocking information came from the fine reporting by authors Armen Keteyian and Jeff Benedict in their 2013 book "The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big Time Football." One SEC and one ACC school, the father said, offered to double the offer the other school made for Seals-Jones.
quote:
I made some calls to see if $650,000 was even possible in this day and age. I was told that was absolutely the case by a former college assistant who went into detail.
quote:
What would a top player … or the nation's No. 1 quarterback … be worth?
That's an open-ended question. Look at your own paycheck. You are worth what someone will pay you, and this underground economy sets its own rules. Seals-Jones' father said he didn't take that monster offers because he worried about being caught.
Chester Jones apparently had a conscience. That's one of the few parking brakes in this economy. Good luck, NCAA enforcement, with the rest of it.

anyone who thinks lsu offered $60k, in any form or fashion, to leo lewis is out of their mind. i know lsu is not squeaky clean but this is just laughable.

Ya I get where people think it is 650 but it makes no logical sense with the story. Not taking "650k" and playing in starkvegas for 10k is illogical. I'm sure across the country athletes get paid by all programs but it's idiotic to think LSU offered him 650k

Dang sitting home for the playoffs seems to have Your red panties in a bunch.

It truly is laughable. Are athletic department is basically broke and he's no more than an average recruit

Is it idiotic to think LSU offered him some dollar amount?
6k, 60k or 650k, they are all offers.
It's like the old joke...
A man asks a woman if she would be willing to sleep with him if he pays her an exorbitant sum. She replies affirmatively. He then names a paltry amount and the women claims to be greatly offended.. "What kind of a woman do you think I am?". He replies "We've already established that. Now we're just haggling over the price."
Point being, if you believe LSU makes offers then the price is irrelevant. Either you're in the game or you're not.

LSU offered $650k but he came to State for $10K
If Lewis takes and math or economics classes at state, and passes, then I will worry about us getting investigated.

If she was offered $650,000 then he should've gotten his arse to Baton Rouge

If we have been cheating the past few years, we should fire everyone on the cheat team.
You'd think if we had $650,000 to throw away we'd buy a f'ing quarterback.
