Gus and Arkansas

Just heard Clint Stoerner. He said Arkansas would be happy with 8 wins a year. Every once in a while have a 10 win season. If this is true, I would think Gus would seriously consider this gig. Bret is toast. Gus would be at the dominant state institution. If 8 wins is the expectation, that is much less than Aub. Aub will always be second to Bama. The pressure to beat them half the time is stressful. He could go to Arkansas,be close to home and have less pressure. Still make tons of money.

How does it feel to be the premier in-state school in talent rich state and go almost 40 years without a NC? It's got to wear down on you, no?

Don't know if Gus is interested in program rebuilding. He's got a stacked house of athletes and Stidham for 2 more years.

I’m so glad you chimed in. I’m sorry about Auburn being 2nd in the state. It is a truthful statement. I would think this would factor into my original post. Wasn’t meant as a negative comment. Lots of good Aub people out there. They don’t always have to say stuff about the op’s team when that person brings up a legitimate topic. I thought what Stoener said was interesting. This is what he said. Just wanted some thoughts. Don’t be a dumbass. They’re plenty of them out there already

Hiring Gus makes too much sense

Gus left the Arkansas flagship to come to Auburn as HC, so I'm not sure this will happen.

With all do respect, AU has the potential to win the SEC for the 3rd time, and make its 3rd NC appearance in 7 years. Sure, it might not have been a dig, but you're operating in a reality that isn't cut and dry. If you're going to throw around terms like being the big in state school, at least make sure it actually matters, lest UGA would have accomplished anything worth note this past 4 decades.
