It's easy to beat a team shooting 8 percent from 3

A&M just beat a team ranked 11 by 24 without a player who would be taken in the top 10 of this upcoming draft and without our starting point guard

You've obviously not watched us in years.

what makes you think Memphis is supposed to be good this yr?

That would have been impressive 10 years ago.
Memphis hasn't been to the NCAAT since 2014 and the last 3 years has lost 13, 15, and 14 games. They haven't even broken .500 in the weak ads AAC the last two seasons... This isn't your daddies Memphis and their program has been regressing for years.
Basically this about like Auburn's wins over UConn and Oklahoma last season. Good wins by name, but really not that good of wins in reality at the time.

Really like our depth on this team. Memphis is a team in complete rebuild, so we’ll get to see what we have later down the line.

Bowl Jackson found another username. Good job.

Not sure I'd consider Davis a key player; Norris may be a stretch for that distinction as well, although he is an experienced guy.
Still, good win, mostly considering the absences of Key and Sexton.

Yep. But we won by 12 with 3/5 of our starters out.
So, I'll take it.

Preseason 9th best team in the AAC. Congrats? This ain't Calipari's or even Pastner's Memphis.

Yes they won't win more than 13-15 games, probably. However, we won by 12 with basically our 2nd team. Considering what we've seen the last decade that's pretty exciting. The excitement is more thinking of adding Key, Sexton and Norris into this group we just watched.
Good first step, but long way to go.

This is also an indictment of how bad Memphis, once a national super power, has become.

They've got a pretty easy schedule. I think they'll finish above .500.

Well I’m sure that they’re no LSU.

I'm so proud tonight. I'm guarded for a super season, but I'm buckling up anyway.
I've been following Bama roundball, living and dying on too many close games, for about 46 years now.
Basketball games take a bigger toll on me than football games.
