Herschel Walker
Best RB ever in the SEC. I did see both HW and Bo in person. HW is the best. Bo is a strong second however.
Marcus Dupree on the HS level was the best RB I ever saw with my own eyes. Off topic but thought I would throw that out there. :)

There is one right answer.
Herschel.
So congrats everyone that picked Bo probably dropped out of high school.

If I had to chose, I take Herschel Walker.

I am a huge Bama fan and grad, but it has to be BO.
If you watch each of their SEC specials, you'll see a big difference in their stories:
Herschel was a chubby kid who got made fun of. He did 1000 push ups and 1000 sit ups every day; raced a train through the fields; just manned up and willed himself into being a stud.
Bo Jackson pretty much stiff-armed the doctor as he sprinted out of the delivery room. A bad arse from day one.
I like Herschel's story better, but Bo was born that way.

The debate is over, people. We finally got a scholar from Bama to weigh in on the nuances of their stories growing up.
Congrats Bo!

If Bo played for any other team that didn't run the wishbone, he would still hold the rushing yardage record. His best season was his Soph year and some games he barely had 15 carries:

Herschel has over 18,000 all purpose yards in the NFL which is good for 11th all time.

As the average football fan from around the country and everyone knows Bo.

Herschel was the best SEC running back and physical specimen. He also gets points for longevity.
I will agree that Bo was the better overall athlete. I saw him hit a baseball harder than I have ever seen one hit in college. It hit our outfield lights and was still going up at the time.
And an old joke from the past....Know why he goes by "Bo"? he has trouble remembering how to spell his full name......"Bob"

Great logic, guess you would take Casey Kennum over every other qb to play CF.. screw Dan Marino, Teboew, Cam, Manning, Stafford, should I keep going?
