Herschel is a freak of nature. He is probably the most fit person for his age in the world. He has an over the top personality to go along with it as well.
Bo may be the best athlete that I have ever seen. I remember him running up walls and throwing people out from right field. He was a powerful runner that just blew people up.
I would give Herschel the edge. Dude played three seasons without the extra game we have now and just one bowl game. He is still the all time leading rusher 30+ years later.
He didn't have SEC championship games and playoff games to pad his numbers either.

This is why I said Bo for a game, HW for a season. Bo would light it up on just a few runs and seal a game. Everyone knew HW was going to get the ball, considering UGA passed like 10 times a game or less, and he still racked up the yards

HW. He would play when he was hurt, and not come out of a game when it got tough.

Herschel
Never lost an SEC game
3 time SEC Champion
National Champion
Heisman Winner
Did all this with less of a supporting cast than Bo had.
Bo had more talent surrounding him and still couldn't muster more than 1 SEC Championship.

Herschel. How this is even questionable is hilarious.

Walker carried an underachieving state and coach all the way to the NC. He was greatness personified in college. The only person that was better than Walker in college was Cam Newton.

Herschel should have won 2 Heisman's. Plus he's my family so I'm biased.

Herschel was in the Dallas Ballet.

Give me Herschel. He's got just enough screws loose to be a perfect war machine on the field.
Bo, while having all the athletic ability anyone could want, has a chill gene that allows him to bow hunt and enjoy life

There is actually some truth here.
IMO, Herschel ran pissed off more than Bo more often and was therefore more consistent in college.
BUT, when Bo did get pissed, he was simply the best RB to ever play. Two examples:
College - Bo always had a chip on his shoulder vs Bama because they told him he would ride the pine at bama until he was a junior. The result was 630 yards rushing and almost 100 receiving vs bama in 4 games, averaging over 7 yards per carry. Dude averaged about 175 total yards in the iron bowl against some good defenses that were specifically stacked to do one thing - stop him.
NFL - Seattle Monday night, boz talked shite, Bo got pissed, game over.

yet Bo was 2-2 vs Bama. Herschel never even lost an SEC game.

Is this is a greatest athlete contest in SEC football history? I would have to throw Tom Ritter into the mix if we consider Refs as athletes too. No athlete in the history of sports has done what Tom has done for the Alabama program.
