Cam Newton botches Titanic quote
quote:
Another week, another press conference gaffe for Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
This time, though, Newton didn't intentionally walk away from the podium early or make a potentially sexist comment. In fact, the Panthers quarterback likely didn't even mean to make the blunder, but apparently, he's never heard or seen the story of the Titanic.
Speaking in regards to the loss of Kelvin Benjamin, who the team traded to the Bills earlier this week, Newton said the following about the emergence of Devin Funchess as the team's new No. 1 receiver after Carolina's 20-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday inside Bank of America Stadium:
"He's taken that leadership role, grabbed it by the horn and told everybody in that position room, 'Listen, this is what we got to do,'" Newton said, via Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network. "These are our expectations. Nobody is even giving us an opportunity. Yeah we just lost a great player, but nevertheless the Titanic still has to go."
What? Did he just compare the Panthers to a sinking ship? Surely that's not exactly what was said? Well, it was.

Somehow, Tampa has the dumb version of this guy.

Dude needs to retire... the game of football has not been kind to his body/mind and I can only imagine how eager some CTE scientists are to get their hands on his brain.

Kuechly and Cam are CTE'd out the wazoo.

This is actually pretty deep and profound if you think about it.

Some suggestions for future press conferences:
"Custer's still making his stand"
"We're trying to fly around the world like Amelia Earhart"
"We're improved, like New Coke"
"We flying like the Hindenburg"
"We're soaring to new heights like the Challenger"
"We're Roanoke, we never going away"

Cam will forever trigger people that he doesn't even know exist. Must be cool to have that kind of power.

I've had many Auburn fans try to tell me that Cam is an intelligent guy.

So much raging butthurt and jealousy in this thread.
You could make a very interesting psychological case study on the reactions of rival fans to Cam Newton. I would love to measure the brain activity of LSU/ Saints fans and Bama/ Falcons fans as they are exposed to different images, videos, sound bites, articles, etc about Cam.
