Florida, this is what makes a tribute authentic.
As opposed to your inauthentic petty Petty tribute.
quote:
On Saturday, November 4th, during the highly anticipated SEC football game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks at Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA, The University of Georgia will recognize Gregg for his legacy in music and his generosity to the University’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music. In 2015, The Gregg Allman Scholarship Fund was established by Gregg with the UGA Music Business Program and is awarded to students seeking a career in the music industry. During halftime of the game, the Gregg Allman Scholarship recipients will be recognized and the legendary University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band will perform three Allman Brothers Band songs.

My father went to school with Gregg at Castle Heights in TN.

I'm all for integrating the South's great music into our college football programs traditions.
Let's start doing it while they are all still alive, though, instead of waiting until they die.

Authentic is subjective....besides they're naming a road after Tom Petty.

shite like this is why UGA is my second favorite SEC team. Also the fact WSMFP originated there.

Saw a Petty concert on tv awhile back. One of the electric guitars was orange with a huge Florida Gator head logo on it. Not sure you can get more authentic than showing your fandome in concert.

I heard Tiger Band will actually send a small pep squad since the full band isn't going to Alabama, just to play through it. It's one of our newest traditions.

He passed away in May. WTF? It took UGA 6 months to do something?
