Stop Bama's run game you have a decent chance of winning

This is easier said than done...over the years everybody has tried but only a handful have succeeded. However, this is the formula to beat Bama - this year with Bama's passing attack being ranked 88th in the country - if you stop the run...you may win the game.

Did this take thousands of hours in the film room?

How does our passing attack this year compare to previous Bama teams?
Also, what’s the relation between our improved run game this year and lower passing numbers?

Yea ok, but still gotta score on them.

Oh yeah. Not sure why more teams dont do it. Just line up and punch Bama in the mouth on defense. Then run and pass all over them on offense. Simple as that.

Put 11 men in the box and hope Hurts misses to open receivers.

You have like 4 competent running backs who would likely all start next year for LSU
It's going to be really hard to stop the run
and if we sell out, there will likely be a wide open receiver that even Hurts could hit

Alabama is 16th nationally in passer efficiency rating.

Oh damn, thanks for this info, baw. I was thinking just run pick plays from the goal line.

Don't forget to score. You can stop the run game 99/100, but when you lay an egg on on the scoreboard, that 1/100 will get Bama over the hump.

Partially. We also are better on the OL and at RB than we have been since 2012, and we have a Coordinator who recognizes that.
We are a monster run team and an efficient pass team. Will the efficiency be able to stay efficient if someone slows our run game? That's the question, but up to this point our pass game has been efficient by every metric available.
Our run game is as good as it's been in the Saban era. And, when you are beating everyone like a pulp, you tend to keep running the ball, which tends to make your YPG Passing number drop pretty dramatically.
