Best attitude to have with anything related to politics tbh.

You are completely wrong with that statement.
First off, people that say Alabama and Mississippi are the worst states are usually democrats. I have loved living in AL and MS.
I don't like having blind alligences to parties either. However, the Democratic Party has become a socialist party full of hate that I do not want my state associated with. Not to mention, long term democratic rule has been proven to destroy thriving U.S. cities. Look at Detroit and Chicago. Both are in shambles because of the democrats
Don't get me wrong the republicans in the south are complacent and don't get things done. However, I'd rather nothing get done than democratic policies get advanced
I don't really know where to start here. It is great that you have loved living there, but that doesn't mean they both don't blow and rank almost last in any meaningful metric you want to select. To say Detroit and Chicago are in shambles because of the democrats would be like me saying Alabama being a republican state is the single reason why the state struggles so much. Chicago also isn't that bad tbh, big city with lots of nice areas, and lots of bad areas. There is a lot more nuance with Detroit.

Should probably go out and explore life more. Words can't help this one.

I prefer the candidate that hasn't been removed from office twice.

Preach. Democracy is a failure of a system. Bring back the Articles of confederation. H3ll, we would be better off if we chose congress like we chose juries.

No it wouldn't. You are showing your ignorance of Alabama history. Republicans didn't have full control of the state of Alabama until 2010 (first time in history). Dems are just as to blame for what needs fixing in this state as they are for Chicago and Detroit.

The national gov't and its cohorts bear blame. Drug prohibition help turned urban centers into magnets for violence, not to mention the welfare state as a solution to rising unemployment among young adults was disastrous. Just a steady decline of sixty plus years.

This is true, but every city and every state dealt with these same issues. Not every city and every state turned out like Chicago and Detroit or Alabama.

But that ignores the socioeconomic diversity of areas. You can't compare Huntsville to South Chicago or Detroit to Seattle. Btw, I remember reading a story of former gang members visiting an area in Alabama and being legitimately scared.

Yeah I mean it's not like Chicago is nicknamed Chiraq for the amount of violent crime or like Detroit which went from a thriving city of nearly 2 million to a mere 650,000 in 50 years of democrat rule. Honestly the fact that you can't acknowledge that those areas are in shambles speaks to your ignorance. My family has lived in both Chicago and Detroit so I think I have a good understanding of both those areas.
Honestly you should go out and experience life more to see all the Americans suffering due to failed democratic ideas. The "affordable" health care that Obama forced on us should show you that socialism doesn't work.
Like I said in a earlier post. I don't like what Alabama republicans have done. Many are lazy and in some cases corrupt. But I'd rather have laziness and the status quo over the policies that have been PROVEN to fail

Nights like tonight make me sad for our state. We absolutely suck when it comes to electing politicians.
There were ten names on the Republican primary ballot. We ended up with the absolute worst candidate of the ten.

Special elections bring out true believers. If they had waited until the next general, which was the original plan, you would have seen much greater turnout and odds are much greater that Moore would not have won.

Bruh, mandating that everyone buy insurance from private health care companies is about as far away from socialism as you could possibly get.

Conservatives dont like to be told what to do.
Trump wasted how much money coming to Huntsville to try and coerce people into voting for Strange. There were folks in the Von Braun Center with Roy Moore banners.

As a moderate and someone who has voted for both R & D, I've never been more motivated to vote for a Dem until now.

Yeah, there was all this faux outrage over Bentley scheduling it to coincide with the general election because all those nitwits thought they could win. I understand her position, being thrust into the office, but not only would it have possibly kept Moore from winning but keeping it with the next general would have saved the state a shait ton of money. Putting on a statewide election costs about $15 million.
We're going to vote on the Senate seat in December, the next statewide General Election is November 2018. So our broke-arse state just spent $15 million because of a pissing match over 11 months.

Well, it's still bad even if he did mislabel fascism as socialism.

Of course you can. People have the same opportunities in this country no matter where they originate. It's up to them to do something in their own areas. It isn't the job of the government to do it for them.
