The Vandy win. Was this the most complete game

of the NS era vs. an SEC opponent or a P5 one. I liken it to the ND game but I don't recall us holding a P5 opponent to around 75 total yards and racking up around 650 on O.

The 2014 Texas A&M game is also up there. This one felt more dominant though.

I was in Houston visiting my son and trying to watch that game. Was a sweet one for sure.

That '14 A&M game was a pretty dominant victory. But I don't believe we were as physical in that game as we were in this one. And the stats were also not as lopsided in that game as they were in the one yesterday.

The two wins over Michigan St, were pretty dominant.

Vandy had 3 first downs......1 was by penalty. After the first quarter, they had 1 first down the rest of the game. The amount of first downs and rushing yards Alabama had looks like Alabama was playing against air.

What was their best field position on a play? Did they ever cross the 50?

I honestly don't remember. Their offense was barely even on the field. I've never seen anything like that.

I think they got close to their own 45, but that was close as they got. When they were that close, their receivers dropped a pass or two that could have got them on Bama's side of the field.

The Notre Dame national title game in 2012 was our most complete game IMHO. Everyone looks back at that Notre Dame team like they were a joke, but they were still a Top 10 level team. They beat Stanford (12-2) and Oklahoma (10-3) that season, along with 8 win Navy by 40, 8 win Michigan and 8 win BYU. And we could have won that football game 70-7.
Saturday was as complete an arse beating of a team that played hard the entire game and wasn't a dumpster fire (see 2014 Texas A&M) as I can remember in a while.

When we played Clemson in '08 I think , that was pretty dominant.

They never crossed midfield. The closest they got was the 44 after the roughing the passer penalty on their first possession.

Their own 44 was as far as they ever got. It happened on their 1st series of the game. Next snap was the deflection and INT by Ronnie Harrison.

Barrett Jones said in an interview this past summer that during gameprep for that game that Jeff Stoutland closed his office door when the two of them were going over the gameplan (which he said was unusual) and asked Barrett his honest opinion on ND. I'm paraphrasing but Barrett said he told him that he didn't think they were very good and he said Stoutland said something like he agreed and he didn't really see anyway we shouldn't win by several touchdowns.

The 2011 Citrus Bowl win over Michigan State was the worst beatdown of a good team with a great coach I've ever seen in my life. That MSU team has a fair number of NFL players that came from it.
While impressive, you have to remember it was Vanderbilt we beat last week. That was just a physical mismatch rather then a game versus a peer.
