This is going to be a good game. I'm glad to see y'all doing well as your QB is probably the best football player my HS has ever produced. We did play a similar offense in ND and absolutely shut down their ability to run but I think Fitz can throw better than NDs QB could. Our defense is a different animal from anything y'all have seen yet but we have the freshman QB factor. I seriously don't have a clue about this game

I'm not sure what to expect. I trust our defense at this point. The offense i still think can be hit or miss. We certainly cant afford to make any mistakes. UGA will have a huge advantage with the crowd behind them.

This is my concern other than stopping your rushing attack. Kirby always had a great plan for Urban/Dan's offense. I think we'll need Fitz' arm more than ever for this one.

Our offensive line is still not up to par. If y'all run on us, you can win. I love watching our defense play right now. They're deep and very fast and playing well together.
Always rooted for you guys and hope several can make the trip to Athens.
Glad you beat LSU. Watching the score going up, helped the liquor go down Saturday night

Sanders needs to clean it up. I get it that he is frustrated because is so good qbs have started to completely ignore his area of the field but he keep getting 15 yard face mask and personal foul penalties. He just needs to focus because he is one of the best true free safeties in the nation. Other than that I like Lorenzo will eat around States RT. As I learn and read more about this game and State I feel more confident we will win a one possession game. State however is probably going to end up being our toughest opponent of the season and I hope there is a rematch in Atlanta.

No offense intended... but a different animal is going from 110th in the nation last to number 4 in the nation (like MSU) not going from #16 to #16 in total defense.
You dropped from 16th in passing D to 45th...

You haven't watched a single UGA snap have you?

Well im going to be glad to see our average offense put a lot of yards and points on the big bad #4 defense in the nation

I have. And the match up is harder for uga than msu.
I will say it again, as a nonbias football fan, msu is the hardest team in the sec to game plan for.
Remoce their TEs and you have a shot. But a defense literally has to be able to defend every play as a run and a pass. The run is coming from a qb or a rb and it might just be a passing play. The passing play could be a run, but if it is a passing play, you have to match up to rb, TE and 3 or 4 wrs.
It stands to reason that if you have dropped off in passing defense that you have an issue somewhere.

I tried to bump the thread with the Athens info on the Rant but no luck after they locked everything down. How hard is it to get a seat in a restaurant downtown on game day? Just wondering if you have to show up really early; been several years since I was there.

Parrish practiced today which should not be good news for State fans

Also I watched the State LSU game in its entirety earlier today and States offense is extremely similar to Notre Dames and I don't think Fitz is faster than Wimbush, although he is bigger and a better passer.

I never worry about a Mullen offense. If there is something that I'm not too sure about, it would be the secondary. We haven't been tested yet. If State can keep pressure on the quarterback, it takes alot of pressure off the secondary.

This should be a good game, but how many long runs has Wimbush had vs Fitz?
I'm expecting a close, low-scoring game. I think UGA has a good future with Fromm though.
I also hope your receivers have the dropsies like LSU did.

MSU will not score under 30 but 1 game.

Wimbush
4 runs over 20 yards
11 runs over 10 yards
6 TDs and a 65 yard longest run
All of that is in 2 games because UGA held him to -4 yards.
Fitzgerald
3 runs over 20 yards
7 runs over 10 yards
5 TD runs and a longest run of 44 yards.
These stats are what they are. Wimbush is statistically better. But we are talking about 3 games and over a season, it means nothing.

We've had drops (2 missed third down conversions last week).
We've dropped about 9 INTs.
We have studs in Chubb and Sony at tailback and YAC receiver in Godwin. But we are a young offense. Not a lot of push on obvious running downs. Small mistakes in pass blocking. The offense can overachieve with short fields. But long marches will be tough against your D. We might not get out of our own way and self destruct in obvious situations.
