Just showed it on Espn, what an exciting ending to a hard fought game between 2 of the 3 tiger teams in the conference. A penalty made them replay 4th down but was Etling given the appropriate time to snap the ball once the refs spotted the ball and moved away?
How is the signal given; the ref just putting the ball on the ground and moving, a verbal signal, a hand signal? Looked like he snapped it pretty quickly, but the clock was on zero. I have often heard that the team is given to "-1" to snap the ball because the ref has to see the clock hit zero then look down and evaluate if the ball has been snapped. Anyways what say the rant?

Solid troll thread.
Rub salt in the wound of LSU fans while at the same time questioning the results for the Auburn fans.
Well done.
Also I love how the announcers watch the replay and go "well they clearly got the snap off"
WTF?

I've never understood at what point the clock starts. Seems very random, but is just a part of the game. It is what it is...a great game.

Honestly if the snap gets off without a whistle I don't see how they overturned it as a dead ball.

They used the rules.

Replay negates that extra second, no?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe you can challenge the play clock expiring (see UK UF '14), so I don't see where this would be different. To me the officials should have blown the ball dead right as it was snapped.

LSU won the game 19-18. Now enough already, put a lid on it. The Tigers will win without any dispute this year in Tiger Stadium.

Yeah, as an LSU fan, I somehow caught that we didn't get it off as they snapped the ball. I knew once it went to replay it was over...

LSU should never been allowed to run that last play. Should have been a clock run off for breaking the rules on the previous play.

And yet LSU fans blame the refs on everything.

You realize that even if LSU got the snap off (Which they clearly didn't) that #83 for LSU was never set and the TD would have been called back and after a 5 yard penalty for illegal motion the down would have been replayed?
Sorry your team, and apparently you, don't understand the concept of time and a clock.
Yes, they will. The Auburn Tigers will win. LSU will get embarrassed

I like most of you was watching the game live. As soon as the play happened I knew it wasn't going to stand. Just too many things felt wrong about the play as it was happening.

It was actually a live ball situation in that the clock had to start prior to snap and the offense would have to be set for 1 second. With only one second left it is impossible to run a play if the clock is moving.
In the NFL, there never would have been a play.

I still dont understand why there wasn't a 10 second run off on the previous play where LSU got called for a offensive penalty and had no timeouts

This thread could have been closed earlier. The rules meant the game was over.

You think they can review to see if a player is set
