I think the red indian is Stanford. FSU had just started playing football again in 1947.

Is the dairy cow really a Longhorn?
Seriously?

after a google search, it appears williams college in massachusetts has a mascot named ephelia the purple cow. yea, going with the longhorns here. benjamin knox must have painted that "longhorn".

That's almost definitely a caricature of the old Stanford mascot.
OU's indian looked nothing like that.

That's their original chartered name and what they proudly called themselves and printed on their diplomas before the 1960's.

The "maned lion" is Kansas state. The "horse" is either Iowa state or Kansas.
Mizzou is the Tiger. The cowboy is Ok state.
Its an old Big 8 picture

The "maned lion" is Willie the Wildcat? The horse is obviously NOT Kansas.

There's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to start

Yeah, that's never gonna happen. I know u wish it would though. You realize if they made lsu change it's mascot from a tiger that every team that is represented by an animal would have to change theirs right? That's not happening. Hypothetically speaking, we are truly a&ms daddy, so something along those lines would be cool with me.

Gators (Florida)
Owls (Rice)
Jayhawks (Kansas)
Seminoles (Florida State - colors give it away)
Mustangs (SMU)
Razorbacks (Arkansas)
Horned Frogs (TCU)
Bears (Baylor)
Cougars (Houston)
Trojans (USC)
Wildcats (Multiple)
Tigers (Multiple)
Sun Devils? (Arizona State)
Yellow Jackets (Georgia Tech)
Gay looking cows (t.u.)
Bulldogs (Multiple)
Nittany Lions (Penn State)
Eagles (Multiple)
No idea who the Knight is supposed to be as neither Rutgers (Scarlet Knights) nor UCF (Golden Knights) had football teams back then and Army was called the Cadets back then.
