texags was all in a frenzy bc pantherag predicted we close with sophser, but he's got a history of being over confident/optiimistic when it comes to recruiting.

Lot of ppl were vouching for him as an insider, but he was wrong on mccullough, sheffield, jones, etc. all recently.

i have a hard time believing we are getting sophser when the only thing you can say that would connect us to him is the secret visit he took in the spring and the fact that apparently he and elijah robinson are close. but outside of that, dont see why so many people are talking about him being a possibility

lee is interesting only because we want him at linebacker and i thought i read that he wanted to play defense. would be a really nice replacement for harris

I have the exact look on Sophser (and Dean for that matter). The only people saying we have a shot is A&M. Everyone else thinks its 100% Bama-Georgia/Bama-LSU. Would happily accept being wrong, but I think our guys are taking them talking about how much they enjoyed their visits/liking coaches too seriously.

I think Lee has a much better chance of happening (though still slim) because of the LB vs WR angle. If he prefers LB we should have a very real shot.

I would be shocked if got Sophser and don’t think we are even an option for Dean

Actually, the TexAgs moderators are starting to hint at Shepherd being the late addition in February. Makes sense too if you read the tea leaves. He's not signing early, Green pushed back his official visit until sometime in January (friends), and I heard from someone I trust today that the sip coaches are all in a lather because they don't think he sticks. It's why they've been chasing the "bread" OL, and they keep striking out there as well

I think our last commits are Hunter, Banks, and Shepherd. Lee is going to LSU if Bama doesn't have the room for him

Billy said most recently that we might sign 27.

Could Fields take Upperclassmen Mond’s spot?

Pretty sure Fields is wanting to be guaranteed a starting spot when eligible.

I know everyone likes to bag on Mond, but he will be tough to unseat in 2020 if he improves over the next two years.

Pretty sure A&M is not going to be the landing spot.

Love me some Hornsby, and wonder if Fields would run him off.

And by the way, does anyone know if we backed off David U. Or if OU just beat us.

and if he does than ok. i think hornsby looks terrific. but he wont be on campus until the 2020 season and realistically wont be an option to start till 2021 or 2022. you recruit fields right now and if he wants in, you take him even if he runs hornsby off

If he goes juco for a year, is there anything they can do to block him?

He must think Fromm is staying all 4 years. Not sure I really understand this transfer.

I misunderstood Billy's post recently. He was hinting we may take three more, so I assumed he was moving on the hard cap of 26. But he's not. He claims we only have room to go one over the 25 cap by counting it backward. To get to 27, if he's right, we'd have to greyshirt the kicker.

Supposedly Kirby is making a push for Calzada due to Fields transfer. Makes me feel better about Calzada as a player, but a little nervous about getting his signature. Maybe it's just smoke.
