Great season. Our 2nd best hitter Kvistad just had an awful series while Oklahoma's top few hitters all came up big. That was probably the difference.

I think Patty Gasso out coach Tim Walton today.... I think starting Alicia Ocasio was a critical error when she had not pitched since April. I also think gasso did a great job of using her pictures in rotation so that the gator hitters would not see any one person twice. Delanie Gourley did all she could do out this two-game series as a senior picture, I hate to see her go out like that she is a true champion

Four Natty Patty is the best softball coach in America.

Easy to say now, but Gourley was out of gas last night.

She was money tonight.

I think it was just one of those "gut feelings" coaches have sometimes that sometimes looks brilliant and sometimes looks dumb. In this case, it probably backfired on Walton.

Gasso pulled a similar risky move by starting Lowary instead of Paige Parker in game 1 and it paid off huge.

I agree. Teacher schooled student.

2 great games. Wish there were at least 3. But congrats OU on winning it all. Great team.

Gasso made all the wrong moves yesterday and still won, so I think we were beaten by the better team. 2nd guessing coaches is moronic 99% of the time. Sometimes the right moves don't pay off and sometimes they do.

Walton also started the freshman Ocasio in game 1 of the 2015 championship series against a potent Michigan offense and brought in Gourley for relief after Lauren Haeger had pitched every inning of the college world series up to that point and the other two hadn't pitched in like a month... We won game 1 and that rest Haeger got probably won us the series.

Not second-guessing the coach at all, just stating my opinion of what I saw. Anyway congratulations on a great season to the Florida Gators you were the class of the SEC this year and really look like you were poised to win that National Championship. I was pulling for you all the way

Grats OU great games. Two best teams that are both awesome. Call it sour grapes but I do think being OKC eas the edge in the game. Not calling umps out it is the little things no one registers. Like OU girls sleeping in home beds vs UF sleeping in hotel last week. It is why Vegas gives home teams an edge in bets. It matters.

Well be it the coaches or players or both, OU was just a little bit better. Great season for UF being #1 all year, too bad they couldn't bring it home, but that how softball go.

You can't be serious? Oklahoma City is a neutral location, isn't it? No home advantage there....

It's crazy to think how close Oklahoma came to not even making it out of Regionals. They were down 2 runs to Tulsa in an elimination game in extra innings. They turned on a switch and never looked back.

Hopefully he's being sarcastic about OKC being neutral to Norman, right?

That's like saying the World Series is in Alachua, FL and UF not having a home field advantage

FWIW, OU doesn't get to "sleep in their own beds" for the WCWS. The NCAA handles all the lodging arrangements. They're not allowed to use ANY of their own home facilities back in Norman, and they stay in an NCAA-assigned hotel like all the other teams.

leaving the best pitcher in the NCAA tourney on the bench and resting her for a game 3 that was never coming is questionable coaching. You have to win game 2 to make it to game 3 and that's why Patty Gasso win and wins and wins. She was always one step ahead of Coach Walton. That first game really screwed it up for UF rotation wise. I love guorley or whatever her name was. I didn't know much about her till the champ series but I do see why Florida won so many by shutouts his year. Great team pitching. Paige Lowery hadn't shown that kind of superstar potential as a starter. I was pleasantly surprised she can pitch for 10 innings and her strength never dropped off.

Congrats on making the finals Gators. You have an impressive team. Your pitching staff is sick and honestly, I was worried about facing you guys.
It's been you and us for the last several years for a reason. We will see you at the top again soon. OU/Florida is the new normal.
