Anybody else like the old Auburn Kroger better?

My pregame routine involves stopping by on my way into town since I am coming from that direction. The old store was like a cozy shopping experience while the new one feels like wandering around a warehouse.

I know what you mean but there are pros to the new place too.
Kroger needs to survive, if Publix somehow wins out they'll eventually go to shite like in Columbus due to lack of competition

bullshite. I can shop at Kroger so much cheaper, plus the Organic Truth line is legit and priced on point.

Publix went bad in Columbus because it's Columbus not because they have no competition. Publix doesn't have any real competition anyways

Can someone explain the Publix love? I've never understood it. Almost everything costs more. Surely it's not just the Boar's Head?

I kinda like the new Kroger better. Sure, I like the old one for nostalgia purposes, but the new one offers a lot more.
On the Publix front, I don't live too far away from it, and still don't go there. I was never a Publix fan, but know people who swear by the deli.

We have two grocery stores near us. Both are Publix and both are awesome. Produce is very fresh and the seafood department is excellent. But they are very expensive. We shop there because my wife does not give a shite about money but they are high
Is the Kroger you guys are talking about the one beside the Big Blue Book Store?

Old Kroger was the GOAT for 2:00 AM shopping
I do most of my grocery shopping at Winn-Dixie now tho

I'll agree with that.
But the subs are so much better.

When I was in Auburn I always went to the Kroger at Glenn and Dean. I had a professor (don't remember which one now, may have been Dr. Carr) that called it the country club for college students. You even got your own membership card.

If it ends up being more expensive, its not by much.
The stores are clean and well organized. The workers are all clean. The people who shop there tend to be cleaner. I can go through the publix near our house and not see one neck tattoo. Its a bit refreshing.
Its just better.

Winn Dixie > Kroger > Publix

I can only speak for Auburn, but nearly everything at Publix cost more than Kroger. It honestly is ridiculous just how expensive Publix is vs Kroger (think 15-20% across the board)

Kroger has the same policy in Auburn. If it is 3/$5.00 or BOGO, you can just buy individual units at the discount price

Ya and you pay a ton for it too. Publix chicken breast is $4.99/lb compared to the butcher shop hand trimmed $2.99/lb at Kroger

That's why i shop at Kroger. We buy pretty much all organic stuff and the Kroger stuff is pretty reasonably priced.

Only because of Publix. Not before they came into town.
I haven't been to the new Kroger because I live near the Publix and saving $3 isn't worth driving across town. But when I lived near the one in Tiger Town they had the shittiest produce department in the history of Produce. I swear half their produce was on the verge of being rotten at any given time.

Yep. Publix produce and meat department/deli is far suprerior to W/D or Kroger. Not really close. So fresh and so clean...clean

Publix coming to town was definitely a good thing. No argument on that

I shop at Publix frequently since it is legit across the street from my neighborhood. If I know I'm buying >$75-100 in food though, I'll go the extra 3-5min to Tiger Town Kroger to save at least $10-15.

Tiger Town's produce has gotten better but Publix fo sho has Kroger's number on produce.

Nah, Kroger has been doing that ever since I moved to Auburn in the late nineties. There was not a publix here then.
