That's right. Dallas is ate up with OU fans and alumni, as you said. And, OU is always good for television. They draw really well, nationally.

To all the SEC fans, I'd like to pose a question.

If Oklahoma signed a home and home with your school, exactly how excited would you be when game time rolled around?

Personally ... meh it's a game I guess. Hopefully it would get a national audience.

But excited? No, not like I would for Alabama, Georgia, Florida, or even Clemson.

I really can't speak for the rest of the country, but my take is the southeast just never really paid much attention to OU. Is it a Midwest/Southwest thing?

Just thinking things through, not too many teams out of conference I would be excited to play. Off the top of my head right now, I can only come up with Ohio State.

Texas, Notre Dame, just don't care.

i feel like this has been really over exaggerated. if anything it would be hilarious to see OU and UT ride our coattails with their tails between their legs into the SEC

You were silent on Dodds. My feeling is Dodds was long in the tooth when they had Kevin Weiberg and let him go to the B1G. My argument is the B12 had better overall sports (nobody had left yet) so establishing a network before the B1G was the right move. More importantly, it maintained the B12 as a market leader as they had already gone to 12 and a CCG. What do you think?

The melt you claim would be miniscule compared to the melt by everyone else once the sips start pulling their usual shite.

Unless the SEC finds a way of monetizing those fans beyond SECN cable subs there is zero reason to try and gain more market share in DFW. Its already covered with A&M and Arkansas fans just as Houston is covered by A&M and LSU.

You entire post is a contradiction

You said you are excited to play Clemson but only university outside of your conference you would be excited to play would be Ohio State

The loyalty of the Group of 4 to A&M would fall if UT uses the ACC card on them

They would rather bring in UT than alllow UT to go to the ACC and help their rivals.

Texas in the ACC could push that conference ahead of the SEC in terms of how much ESPN gives the conference because of first football and second basketball

Absolutely not. The University of Texas ruins every conference they join. frick them. They'll never be welcomed in the SEC from a fans perspective.

By you saying this are you admitting the SEC is weak

If the SEC was strong UT wouldn't be able to supposedly ruin the conference

The schools who agreed to base revenue on success used capitalistic ideas on how to divide revenue.

Unless you are for collectivism and allowing a school who doesn't invest into their product to receive the same amount as you for doing less
Damn I know most of you complain about supposed leaches on our federal government how about leaches upon your conference because it is the same thing
You are rewarding laziness and people who do not attempt to find success

Good catch sorta. Note though I said "even Clemson."

My situation is that South Carolina plays Clemson every year (since 1909, and before that though not continously).

No matter what they will be on our schedule. But in a lot of ways I get more excited about the SEC games.

Now besides Clemson, out of conference, Ohio State is a program that is seemingly always in contention for the playoff.

So yeah, I'd be excited to play them in a regular season home and home series.

Oklahoma? Texas? Not so much. We'll never recruit Texas really, let alone Oklahoma. Really pay no attention to how either team is doing during the season either.

Texas hasn't been squat for over a decade. Oklahoma pulls a Big Game Bob or two every year, so it and until they fix that, they'll never be one of the elite programs.

They were once, but they aren't right now.

Tell me how they can ruin the SEC? Do you understand how the were able to ruin the Big 12 and SWC?

And South Carolina is

Do you not understand you are speaking about two blue bloods.

I never saw your university play in a BCS game nor in a Group of 6 under the new format
