Yes, because if the SEC doesn't get Texas and OU freakishly big, tall, and fast kids will stop being born in SEC states. I guess it will stop the SEC from raiding Texas as well.

The sole sports focus of the Longhorn Network is t.u. sports.

At the time of the Notre Dame deal (1992), NBC only had sports on its main broadcast network. Notice that NBCSports doesn't broadcast anything related to Notre Dame except in reruns.

The sole sports property OF THE SEC NETWORK is the Southeastern Conference and its members.

Surely you can't be this dense.

irish.nbcsports.com is a single-school platform that showcases Notre Dame recruits by name. NBC is a Notre Dame booster under your definition.

Try to keep up.

From what I saw last year in college football the ACC and BIG are better conferences Top to bottom

So if the SEC wants to be even further behind them then go ahead and allow UT and OU to join their conferences

That really doesn't bother anyone in Austin because wherever UT goes will instantly become the best conference
If this were even remotely true then your conference wouldn't crumbling worse than a fricking saltine cracker.

The conference was a mismatch from the beginning

CU had long ago grew out of being considered a Midwest farm school. Colorado in the 50's and 60's was not the CU of the 90's. Not to mention how they viewed every university besides their own.
People who claim UT is arrogant and snobby has never been around Boulder or CU alum

The Northern schools besides Nebraska and later Kansas St valued basketball over football and in some cases did not value football at all

The Texas schools besides A&M and UT were forced into the Big 12. Tech would never have been there because all the other schools had longer connections with the SWC. Tech came from the predecessor to the WAC the Border Conference.

Most importantly every school formerly in the Big 8 besides the Oklahoma schools thought that OU turned their backs on them because of UT

They didn't hate OU because of this but UT

Accepting Texas into your conference is like self-injecting cancer into your bloodstream.

There are great fans from UT and OU. But, what happens is A&M fans tend to beat their chests at Texas because they're in the SEC now and Texas isn't. A huge brawl always breaks out between these 2 camps. Its a mess. And Mizzou fans aren't too far behind A&M. Neither of those former Big 12 schools want Texas or Oklahoma to enter the picture ever again. lol

It's so much more than just that.

If you look carefully, you'll notice that, in every spat between Aggies and the gay cows on this board, an Aggie doesn't fire the first shot.

We're happy with minding our own business, but they're like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.

That's actually a false statement. Houston didn't join the SWC until 1976.

Does the University of Notre Dame have the governing body for all high school sports in the State of Indiana run out of its campus? Where does the UIL operate out of.

Try again.

You were silent on Dodds. My feeling is Dodds was long in the tooth when they had Kevin Weiberg and let him go to the B1G. My argument is the B12 had better overall sports (nobody had left yet) so establishing a network before the B1G was the right move. More importantly, it maintained the B12 as a market leader as they had already gone to 12 and a CCG. What do you think?

missed the Dodds, was too focused on my boy Butterteeth Brown. Dodds is an interesting topic.. 2 sides of the fence. Was he the selfish overlord of the evil empire or was he the only guy with vision and a set of balls who got tired of a bunch of pawns twiddling their thumbs?

Unless Dodds forced the hands of four other universities, you can't put the blame on him for B12 not listening to Weiberg. DD certainly wasn't long in tooth at that point.. he struck arguably the greatest deal in collegiate marketing ever. 2010ish is when DD became Mr Sabertooth tiger.

don't think we agree on Patterson, my point was that he's proof Texas is academics first. When UT admin realized he was only chasing the dollar w/ no regard to much else they canned him less than a 1/3 into his deal and paid $5M to do so.

If Texas was money first they'd be in the SEC

Here is dealio. Dallas could get the SEC CG down the road with OU in the conference. Never, ever would Big Jerry pull it to the cowdome the way it is. I hate OU, but they would be a good add to the conference and help leave the Shorthorns out in the cold!
