Are these needs going to be immediately filled by this class or are they going to need 2-3 years to contribute on the field?

I think there’s a good mix of both

Qb: 1 decent option for this year (Hicks), Qb of the future in Jefferson
RB: Need filled with future depth in Spivey
TE: Henry immediate help and future
WR: Needed an overhaul and we got 4 guys that can all contribute immediately
OL: 6 guys, solid depth for the future including a much needed C, and 2 Jucos who can step in right away,
DL: Probably more future depth but I think Soli and Williams can help right away
LB: 1 solid for depth, but immediate needs not filled
DB: some depth filled, but Catalon, Bush and Brooks should play right away

Overall needs were addressed except for linebacker. If we can get a grad transfer then sign a couple of the studs from Memphis in next year’s class then I think we’ll be in better shape there

I think must haves in this next class are two RBs, 2 TEs and as many quality LBs and OL as possible.

Completely agree. As of now I think we’re gonna take 2 RB’s, 1-2 TE’s, 2-3 LBers, and probably 4 OL based on needs and offers.

Fry said he never wants to have to sign 6 again. 4 is more in line with what he wants each year going forward, with the occasional 5

2 QBs are coming in 2020.

Hyatt probably transfers out over the next 12 months when he graduates.

Noland possibly baseball only exists depending in how the next 4 months go.

we got better here. I don't know how much immediately but definitely better.

quote:

(1) RB: A’Montae Spivey

good deal can always use a RB given our depth but injury proneness.

(4) WR: Treylon Burks, TQ Jackson, Trey Knox, Shamar Nash

holy shite we may finally complete a pass.

great pickup and landing of the homestate kid.

member when people were bitching about not having any linemen and fry sucking? we managed to address immediate and long term needs here.

(4) DE: Collin Clay, Eric Gregory, Mataio Soli, Zach Williams

quote:

(3) DT: Taurean Carter, Enoch Jackson, Marcus Miller

knocked this out of the park.

quote:

(1) LB: Zach Zimos

hopefully all those linemen tackle folks and we don't need linebackers cause we didn't get it done here.

quote:

(2) CB: Greg Brooks, Devin Bush

excited about these two.

quote:

(2) S: Jalen Catalon, Malik Chavis

I want to see catalon play. a safety with some insticts could change our defense. also will mask that we only have 1 LB

What the 25 spot jump in year 1-2? Yeah it serves it perfectly thanks for mentioning. Top 15-20 class next year coming. Can’t wait.

Yeah if we can pull a top 25 after going 2-10, I'm excited to see what next year brings.

Another interesting stat on this class. Our lowest rated recruit is Dylan R. at a respectable .8510. Looking over the past 5 classes, here are the number of recruits that were rated LOWER than the lowest recruit of this class:
2018: 6
2017: 9
2016: 10
2015: 8

Sure, if you don’t know how to actually read the data and just look at that number.

I read that we lost a much needed LB to Ole Miss?

What's the number for that one?

Maybe you can teach me how to read 2-10?

8th in the SEC

So better than Chad...

8th/36th in 2017.
5th/29th in 2016.

4th/19th in 2013.
9th/46th in 2012

For an average of 8th in the league. Chad's average is 12th. Thanks for posting!

That 14th ranked class in 2015 was also the smallest class in the league, so I guess he gets a pass for that? People keep saying that's why Chad's first class was 14th. Just trying to treat everyone equally.

Same. 3 or 4 wins total vaults right into the top 15!

Imagine what a P5 win would do or even a conference win. Watch out SEC.

Not that hard when you start at 50.

How does Morris get a pass for last year when the post motorcycle crash class was still 25 spots better?

Because post motorcycle crash had 9 months until NSD and Chad had two weeks. Early signing period didn’t exist in 2012. It’s pretty simple really.
