Somehow we've got to get 1 or 2 LB's. We're razor thin there. I just don't see how we're going to do that.

Arkansas has struggled to recruit LBs consistently for 40 years.

The logical approach would be recruit athletes who played QB/RB/CB/S in high school and teach them to play the position. This takes time and coaching but can/has worked for Patterson at TCU.

I know, it's frustrating.

Who's bitching? I just posted two facts, it's up to you how to take them. If you want to call Chad a recruiting wizard for getting the 10th ranked class in the league, knock yourself out.

That's fine and all, but when rankings are being used to tout "best ever" only to have it finish where Arkansas always finishes in the rankins after the dust settles, it nullifies any argument for it being the "best ever".
Find another class with double digit 4 star signees. I just went all the way back to 2006 on 247 and we haven't even sniffed a class this solid. A typical Razorback recruiting class has been 5-6 4 stars and 18-19 3 stars with a 5 star sprinkled in every 3-4 years. The recruiting job Morris has done this year has not been matched by a previous head coach here and that is straight fact. It's the best ever. Get over it.

Caver, Bua, Miller, Olajubutu and Spaight were pretty damn good.

BR Smith wasn't too bad and Jerry Franklin was a beast.

The fact that you're missing how much deeper the league is and not giving that any relevance to the argument makes you just as ridiculous as those you criticize constantly.

If we had the 16th ranked class and every single SEC team was ahead of us, would you still be jizzing yourself?

That's the point man. We're still 10th in the damn league and you're already needing to change your underwear.

Has zero to do with whether or not this is the best class we've ever had or not.

Why would I complain about a top 20 recruiting class? If it's a good class for us, I don't care if Ole Miss is buying players. They still got beat by Bert doing it.

Go look at where Petrino's classes ranked in the SEC then compare them to the league finishes. I see a ton of talent I'm excited to have on campus in Morris' scheme. Arkansas has always finished above where recruiting rankings say we should. I don't give a rat's arse if Auburn's class is 1.2 "special recruiting points" ahead of ours. It's negligible. 4 of the 5 teams ranked immediately ahead of us on 247 have a lower average recruit rating than we do.

They weren't on the roster at the same time.

Arkansas had has a solid linebacker on the roster consistently, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6? Not so much.

Better?

You keep using rivals, this isn't even the highest ranked class Arkansas has signed according to that service.

Beyond that you are trying to dictate the narrative by picking and choosing the data, confirmation bias.

You're a waste of time. If you are looking for an echo chamber, try hogville.

Danny said in his post signing day chat tonight that he thinks we’ll take a second transfer QB.

Does he have any other choice at this point?

There are like 3 scholarships available that can be used on grad transfers.

Thought that was pretty much a given at this point. Didn't Morris say he was still after one earlier? I see a QB, a LB, and possibly another corner or OL.

this is the best class we've ever had on paper
not good enough because
it's low compared to the rest of the SEC
just like all of our classes that competed in the SEC championship game
except they were not as good as this class is on paper

Is it good on paper?

Does it fill the needs of the roster both known before last season that went unfilled, needs that became known during the season, and needs that became a need after the season with the transfers and graduation of certain positions?

Are these needs going to be immediately filled by this class or are they going to need 2-3 years to contribute on the field?

If the class does not answer the questions above, is it really that good on paper?

I’d rather hold it over for next year’s class, if they can’t get a difference maker.

Which recruiting service are we using? I think 247 is the best due to composite but everyone else tries to go to Rivals.

Here are our 247 rankings since 2008:

Petrino -
2008: 25
2009: 20
2010: 41 (holy heck- what was Petrino doing?)
2011: 21
2012: 27

Bielema -
2013: 23
2014: 29
2015: 22
2016: 23
2017: 27

Morris -
2018: 48
2019: 23
