The basketball officiating in this league is as bad as it gets

Tennessee just stole a game from Ole Miss we had no business winning. A horrible performance and we were bailed out by the incompetence of Pat Adams, Ted Valentine and Mike Nance.

I've seen it plenty of times on the other side so I won't complain too much but the league has to do something about this. They're doing a huge disgrace to this league night in and night out.

He did the Auburn game last night as well. I see he was in fine form again.

It's like the SEC league office could really give a fuk about basketball

They must get paid by the hour. Pat Adams stretched the last 60 seconds of game time in the AU-MSU game last night to 30 minutes of actual time.

100% agree, I take your word good here, how do you think Barnes has done thus far?

This freshman class has been phenomenal imo, with a chance to make the NCAA tournament.

Maybe LSU basketball. The SEC isn't as shitty as it was before this year. A lot of okay-decent teams, then the top 3.

Yep I couldn't believe the announcers didn't even talk about some of the awful calls. Ole Miss had six fouls in the first five minutes in the second half. The fouls let Vols hang around in the game enough to win it at the end.

It's really made it where I don't even enjoy watching anymore. I can't imagine it's much fun playing in that mess either. These guys and girls work to hard to not have consistent and quality refs.

Was basically the exact opposite for us saturday vs. MSU. Just awful tick tack calls that killed the flow of the game and allowed them to slowly claw their way back

Refs were terrible tonight, again. It's a joke

The officiating against us last Saturday down in Starkville was atrocious though so I feel like this game makes up for it.

Yep it is horrible right now with the way the game is called. SEC needs to look into maybe adding some new refs next year because they can't keep having refs impact the game like this.

I'd like to pretend it's an issue that's exclusive to the SEC, but having watched other college basketball games it's a sport-wide epidemic.

They are killing college basketball. I used to watch CBB about every night, but I find myself watching random NBA games if the Hawks or Auburn aren't playing. It seems extra bad in SEC games. Auburn has had 51 fouls called in each of the last two home games and 19 called in the last two minutes last night.

I think he has done a great job with this team. Last year was above average but losing Punter pretty much ended the season.

The second half collapses have been frustrating but it's expected with the schedule and youth.

We are still a few pieces away but the freshman class is a great nucleus. I think 5-6 are legitimate SEC players which I never would have predicted before the year. We haven't even seen Johnson yet and Fulkerson was looking very good before he got hurt. Both guys are getting redshirts. Parker looks like the only guy who may not stick.

I really like the class next season as well if we can add Pons.

Next season should be a tourney team without a doubt and there will be no seniors next year either so the next several years should be a lot of fun.

Love the ambitious non conference scheduling as well. Getting teams like UNC in to Thompson Boling is great for the program.

Agreed. Watching games from just a couple of years ago is very different in comparison.

Exactly. Last night BasketVOLS got a call every time they drove to the basket. Some of those weren't close to fouls. Conversely, OM couldn't get a call down the stretch when those were whistles earlier.

I understand trying to eliminate the use of hands on defense, but the defenders are at a huge disadvantage now with how they call fouls. All the offensive player has to do is create contact and they get the call; verticality doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. It definitely kills the flow of the game. I've seen foul calls on players trying to box out.
