Who's done a better job, Saban or Dabo?

It's a given that a coach with Dabo's ability could win at Alabama (hell Mike Dubose won the SEC at Alabama, and Gene Stallings won a natty... with the REC machine rolling, my wife could win 10 games at Alabama), but could Saban do what Dabo has done at Clemson? I suspect he could now, since his legacy has been cemented as the GOAT, but would he have had the success had he gone from the NFL to Clemson?

Dabo has done a great job of turning Clemson into the 90s Buffalo Bills of college football.

Gee, I don't know. Which of the two is the better coach... quite a quandary you've presented.

Saban would win a national championship at just about any power 5 conference team.

Pretty obvious that Dabo has copied Saban' process and has gone after Bama's support staff. He has tried to replicate it in his own way, but the blueprint came from Saban.

Let's see... One coach has 5 conference and 4 national titles and is going for his 5th national title Monday. The other coach has 0 national titles and is coaching his 2nd title game Monday.

That seems like a really hard choice, but I will go with Saban by a hair.

I am going to attempt to take all homerism aside in answering this question. The question itself is who has done a better job, not who is a better coach. Dabo's job is to win games and he's done a good job at that. He has built a staff that has the X's and O's down pat. More importantly he has taken steps up to and including a pay cut to keep that staff intact over several years. This is an accomplishment in and of itself. This frees him up to do really the one thing that he really does well, recruit. He can flat sell the university. Now if the question was better coach in the sense of player development... not really as close.

***Reengages homerism and punches himself in crotch for ever saying anything remotely positive about Clemtech or Dabo*****

Saban had it a lot easier. Mike Shula had already turned the Bama program around and loaded the program down with NFL talent for Saban.

Dabo turned a perennial loser into a team that any year can finish as the National Champion runnerup.

Lol, is this a serious question? Saban would have multiple titles at Clemson at this point. Look at the way they recruit without him. He'd have a machine built there. Would he be in position for number 5? Maybe not, but he would be a multiple champ there. The guy could win a title at almost any power 5 school, no doubt.
