Saban had it a lot easier. Mike Shula had already turned the Bama program around and loaded the program down with NFL talent for Saban.

I reserve judgment until I see what Dabo does without the best player in college football.
I think it's pretty telling that Jimbo beat Dabo 51-14 with Jameis Winston as his QB in 2013 while Dabo has never blown out Jimbo with Deshaun Watson as his QB. I guess you can say that Jameis Winston was a better QB than Watson but Tajh Boyd was also a much better QB than Maguire and Francois.

One of your guys posted I can't wait to see what Dabo does without the best player in college football, Watson. Why does he not get credit for recruiting him but Saban does his players?
By the way, Saban is better and it is not even a discussion. Just pointing out how stupid it is to say "take away Watson and see how good Dabo is". Same as taking away Alabama's 6 straight recruiting classes and Saban won't look as great

I know you're not trying to equate taking one player to 6 recruiting classes. Are you?

Saban would win a national championship at just about any power 5 conference team.
Not likely. Most power 5 teams wouldn't give Saban the necessary resources he needs, nor the power.

How about we just meet at Sonic and you can buy me a shake and we agree to disagree?

Would like to see Saban in the Pac 12 or the Big 12.

That 2013 game was something else. It snowballed right out of the gate and the Noles crushed us..hadn't felt one like that in a long, long time.

Any top 25-30 program, maybe. But if you think Saban would even sniff a Playoff at places like Purdue, Vandy, etc. then you need to lay off the crack. He may be the GOAT but he's not God.

Lol, is this a serious question? Saban would have multiple titles at Clemson at this point. Look at the way they recruit without him. He'd have a machine built there. Would he be in position for number 5? Maybe not, but he would be a multiple champ there. The guy could win a title at almost any power 5 school, no doubt.

He could win at Purdue. The only places saban might not be able to win at are the places where academics make it tough to recruit athletes.

Sorry about laughing at your statement, but I believe that in 2007 when Saban took over, there were 0 Bama players drafted. I might have the wrong year, but it seems like that is the one.

Saban is the choice over Dabo because Saban has done well at every place he's coached in college Football he won a NC at LSU and He left the Great players stocked for Miles.

He could have a good program, but saying he could win the national championship at Purdue a bit of a stretch in my opinion. I agree with the poster that said that any of the top 25 to 30 schools, he'd have a good shot.

I think this statement is not true. I don't think he would win big where the resources are lacking. Would he win a National Championship at Kansas, Minnesota or Illinois? I'd like to see. I don't know that he would be as successful as Bill Snyder at K-State. He's the best, but until he wins big at a non football school I'd say even his abilities have limits.

it was a joke...it was meant to be funny.
Saban has 5 freaking NC's and is going for his 6th this is one dumb arse thread. Dabo has done a good job but no one has done a better job than Saban over the past 10 years. Possibly ever.
