Let him get some P5 training

I'll bevery interested to see what he can do there.

Unless he just has no desire to be at A&M I really don't think it would be wise to saddle himself with a large buyout when this job will probably be open in the next couple of years.

They are fricked roster wise in the coming years if the new coach can't salvage something from this class and the next

So was SMU. This is probably the best possible hire for Baylor. If it doesn't work out, then we dodge a bullet. If it works out, then that's great since mama can call him home and he will run here faster than Bear Bryant ran to Bama.

If he takes it, you can be certain it will have an A&M out clause (which I would imagine is going to be a real sticking point with Baylor)

Ditto.
He's my dream coach.
Hopefully he realizes that the A&M job will be open after next season, stays at SMU, continues an upward trajectory there next year, and then comes home.
No way Rapelor accepts an A&M out clause. That would be the biggest up-front slap in the face and cuckolding ever. They're bonkers when it comes to jealousy of A&M.

Normally I'd agree, but they're close to fighting for the life of their program right now. If they're willing to overlook an epidemic of sexual assault to have a good football team, they MIGHT be able to tolerate a coach who's looking to jump to College Station in a couple of years.
If Morris leaves them for us after two years, it means he's had a lot of success and pulled them out of a death spiral. At that point they would have some decent options for a longer-term solution.
Realistically speaking, they aren't going to do better than Morris, who apparently for some reason likes taking on impossible turnaround jobs.

I like it. It Means it's highly unlikely he would then end up leaving Baylor after 1 year to become Aggie coach when sumlin gets fired after next season.

Or if he does and screws them over like Lane screwed over Tenn it will be a moment we can enjoy our entire lives.

Can someone explain why they aren't going after Les?
That program desperately needs someone with character to run it right now.
Say what you will about how good or bad he is as a coach, but Les Miles is a classy guy.

Why should he even take the call? He'd be hamstrung from day one.

Day one wasn't literal. But looming sanctions, Scholarship limits, and negative publicity opinion to name a few.

I keep seeing this, but has the NCAA actually opened up an investigation? Don't get me wrong, if coaches and those within the AD tried to manipulate alleged victims through coercion and threats they certainly deserve it (if not a legal investigation as well), but I haven't seen anything official saying they are under investigation.
