If they really think he's ready, I say play him.
Listen, if we have no direction or trajectory because we have no real options at QB, and they think WB may be the guy next year, let's get it started. If KP is back, great, maybe we can start to build an offense to take into next season. It'll also inform our decisions regarding how badly we need a transfer QB.
The alternative is to go with a guy who is banged up and may be unlikely to be our starter next year (SW) or a guy highly unlikely to play QB for us next year (JFIII). We limp to the end of the year, with no real chance of continuity between the end of this year and preseason. I'm tired of going year to year without any reliable carryover.
I understand it's unlikely that these things are true (WB is ready to play, Gus will burn the shirt), but if they're both possibilities, I'm entirely on board.

Jf3 and JJ shouldn't play. We know we suck with them.
I'd rather find out what WB would be capable of. I think we over value the red shirt on this board. We're still in shape for a good season and recruits are playing attention to what's happening

No way we burn that red shirt now. Facing Alabama A&M isn't going to teach him anything, and throwing him to the wolves in Tuscaloosa would not be good for his future development.
We take 8 - 4, we go to the shite Wiper Bowl, and we hit the recruiting trail. That's the best we can hope for at this point.

Lashlee confirms WB is redshirting, not playing this year

Well frick gus. We end 7-6. Typical Gus.

So whats the fascination ?
1) Common guys it's not as if he's been coached up since being here. Seriously who's the last media darling of a HS QB to have produced for Ghaslee?
2) Isn't it better to get a QB coach and let him have go with him first.... Because IMO burning the red shirt is less of a concern than who coaches Woody.

I honestly don't care about his red shirt. If Sean isn't healthy, let Woody show his potential.

They should of burned his RS for Vanderbilt. It's obvious Gus knew that White was hurt, but still allowed him to play. You don't put your players in a situation to injure themselves further. At that point you burn the RS and try to salvage the remainder of the season while you still have something to play for. Of course Gus went full Gus and here we are now.

What makes y'all think Barrett would be any good? Just the unknown factor of him? We are talking about a qb who is being coached up by Gus and co; so there is a great likelihood he will suck.
Btw Sean White will be the starter next year. Deal with it

Idk. I was telling myself yesterday: Surely Gus isn't dumb enough to continue playing a QB that is hurt and ineffective...
Got damn people if I see this shite one more time I swear my head is going to blow up. Got damn. Ok?
1) SW was held of Vandy for a half. You saw the results of that first half, right. K - at that point, do you play SW or not play him? Not play him = loss. Agree or not? Lose to Vandy, AGAIN? frick. Geez.
2) UGA. SW is not 100% and has been beaten up. It is the fricking last 1/3 of the season. Players are banged up all over the place. Kam is out. SW, gamer, says he wants to go. YOU, Coach Couch, has to make the decision. Less than 100% SW or JFIII or JJ. And you choose....who? Got damn.
3) SW, missing our most effective O weapon and SEC rushing leader and our AU run game's bread and butter, gives it a shot and gets hit repeatedly, possibly aggravating a previous injury. As our QB, SW, despite his body saying frick it but seeing last fricking week's absolute shitshow against Vandy in the 1st half with a healthy, rested JF3, says "Coach, I'll play" . I'll try.
4) Our GD receivers (and notably NCM and KD's absence I have absolutely no rational answer for. frick me on that one) could not fricking catch a pass when it was needed and when they could and should have. Stop putting all that shite on SW and play calling and CGM and CRL and put responsibility where it is due. Just 1 or 2 or 3 catches when our receivers had the opportunity and we would ALL be talking about lots of all different shite here sitting at 7-2 at the moment and 8-2 heading into the IB.
frick people. Get off of SW's back, and get off of CGM for playing him. Compare UGA 2nd half O stats with Vandy (VANDY!!!) 1st half stats with JF at QB. If you want to argue comparisons between those halves and JF3 vs SW then I'll send a polite frick you your way.
uga, especially the 2nd half was a shite perfect shite storm. Get off SW and CGM and spread the blame. Just chunk a good bit up to shite because shite actually does happen. Yes, shite actually does happen and CGM deserves plenty of blame for everything when shite happens. CGM.... is the one to catch all the shite when things just don't work out.
Gotdamn frick. Give CGM one more gotdamn year and until then shut the got damn frick up. Give SW another year (GD sophomore!), give our receiving corps another year, Kam another year. Some of you frickers I swear, zero responsibility, hindsight 20/20, you know so much more than billy butt frick. Believe me, I GET THE FRUSTRATION, but JUST a bit of rationality would be a big boost to this board.
If reports are accurate, this team is now TEAM JJ. There is no viable alternative if we have ANY hope to beat Bama and win our bowl game (assuming it is a decent game against a decent opponent). I would like to say that Team JJ goes for 2000 yards vs UA all purpose for the Heisman, but we should all ground ourselves in a bit of reality.
AU Fam - Get real and stop being piece of shite people. UGA really, really sucks, but frick! Suck it up. Support. Gain perspective. Reality. Downvote as you wish but this AU team, especially our D, SW, JJ, Kam and staff, has my 100% support, and then some. frick.

Nice melt
I believe White has started his last game, unless Gus can't convince a QB to sign with us. Not blaming him. He plays with the ability he can. He was hurt and should not have been out there. And yes, I do believe we beat thuga with JF3. Their offense was not moving the ball. Run the ball, bleed the clock, and play field position. It was that simple.

So you know the group dynamics of a closed system?
There's a reason why a coach on the hot seat, with his job on the line, didn't put in the little speedster? Not to speculate there's anything beyond not being capable. Just that he wasn't deemed to be Mr. Right Now in the moment of needing one.
So who's next man up? Woody, Jeremy, Tyler.... or the one who couldn't get it done against Vandy?

JF3 lead to 10 points against Vandy. They were moving the ball just fine. He just had two turnovers. And Vandy beat that shitty team we lost to Saturday, so I wouldn't say too much about that. If you think for a second that JF3 wouldn't have at least been able to pick up a few first downs and get in field goal position Saturday, Idk what to tell you.

1. Why are we yelling?
2. Reading through all your GD's and fricks is annoying. Just use basic grammar if you want to convey a message.
3.You said: "Compare UGA 2nd half O stats with Vandy (VANDY!!!) 1st half stats with JF at QB." Well, do it and tell me what you come up with.

I don't blame SW at all. I think he's a gamer QB who doesn't fit particularly well within our offense in the SEC. He's a mentally tough guy limited by his physical attributes, and while I think a team under his leadership can be successful, the idea of going into next year with a guy that needs everything going right around him isn't appealing.
I blame the shite out of CGM. For putting us in a position where one RB that he didn't use well anyway being out destroys the offense. For not having a single other QB he's willing to let throw a pass on the roster. For stubbornly costing us Game 1.
Gus will get another year because we have no choice. Not because he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

I think the lack of running back depth goes to a lot of factors that combined in an unfortunate cluster to give us the dirty.

There's the real issue. 4 years into his tenure, Gus should at least have SOMEONE ready to make some rudimentary plays in the passing game besides White.
And some of y'all need to lay off the Vandy hate. The defense, which is the part you're acting like is pathetic, is pretty damn good. Although they played less than stellar this weekend, it's still a damn good unit. The real comparison is that the offense scored 10 against Vandy in the first half with JF III and 13 with Sean White in the second half. I'm finding it very hard to argue that JF III should not have been used more in the UGA game. Hell, at least he could have possibly pulled the secondary down a bit with constant running then hit a big play downfield. MAYBE.
