100% agree. Pulling Shea's redshirt this late would completely invalidate the reason why we redshirted him in the first place

No one remembers the final games of Heppen Nutt?

50 - 0

50 - 0

50 - 0

Knees taken in the 3rd quarter?

If I drive up to college station tomorrow and see Jason Pellerin quarterback our offense for 4 quarters I'm going to slowly die inside. We better freaking start Shea Bae.

IMO the only thing that makes sense is to start Pellerin and give him a chance. If he proves he can't do it then maybe you play Patterson.

If you do play Patterson then you give him the reigns. And you expect to only have Patterson next year because Pellerin will probably transfer

I'll be pissed if we waste a full season of Patterson for a couple of drives

Shea is playing. That is already confirmed. Only thing to do that makes sense is start him. No point in pulling his redshirt to give him a few plays. Plus word going around the block is that Shea has looked fantastic all week with the 1st team. Best player plays, and it sounds like Shea is beating out Pellerin.

would you not agree that the circumstances are slightly different now that we are without the best returning QB in the SEC? What message does it send to write off the rest of the season?

If Shea turns out to be as good as we think and want him to be, he will only be playing for us for 2 years. Whether he is a true junior or a redshirt sophomore is irrelevant

Playing Patterson is the right move.

If the season is over like everyone says it is, then why wouldn't freeze get started towards next year and the future of the program? Why puss out for the last three games, when you can get a jump start on the Kelly-to-Patterson transition?. Patterson knows the playbook and is as advanced player (at his age) as anyone.

These final three and (hopefully) making a bowl game will go a long way towards the attitude of the fans/players/program.

I've flip flopped on this topic multiple times. It is what it is, and I just hope this can get us some momentum going in recruiting, and the kids will see some hope and reason to come here. Getting skull fricked the next three games certainly wouldn't get us anywhere.

Double edge sword. Any success we seen from now on will halt any pressure to rid the staff of Wommack.
